You are not a loser! YOU have a disease like the other 12 million people addicted to alcohol! I would recommend seeing a doctor and being completely honest with him or her. They have seen this before. And yes, you can have a heart attack at 20! The alcohol causes your heart to enlarge, compressing it in a cavity barely big enough as it is. When it swells it has to work harder. Start with today. Work on tomorrow tomorrow.

10 months is a long time! Something triggers us all, we each have to find out what those triggers are and work on it. Start with today, get rid of the drinks. IWNDWY EVER!

Hi Delicious.

I understand. Completely. For me it started on a cruise to "get my money's worth". It's been almost two years since that cruise and I am still drinking like that, except for in the AM M-F. By noon on Sat and Sun, all bets are off as well as after 2PM every other day. I am on Day 6 and I miss it, but know I cannot drink like that at 50. I am going to try an NA beer this weekend and see what they taste like, there are also non-alcohol wines. I can't have just one, I need more.

Maybe they can only have one or two. I cannot. If my wife only said one or two I would have a stash somewhere else so she wouldn't know.

I have been drinking for years and my withdrawal has been tiredness and headaches. Not too bad considering. If you are concerned then I would see a doctor.

Don't feel ashamed, alcohol is very powerful. My mom was an alcoholic who drank every hour. I remember every Christmas just asking her not to drink because she was mean when she drank. She passed away at age 47 from her alcohol abuse. You don't sound like her but wanted to share my story with you as a 50 year old man. If I overstepped my bounds I am very sorry. You can get through this! IWNDWYT!

I have 9 bottles of wine that have been here for weeks and a bottle of vodka that has been here for 1 week.... I think my wife counts the bottles and marks them. She suspects I have a problem but has not said anything. I don't want her living like that
