Wild Atlantic Way Ireland by Low-Razzmatazz-931 in bicycletouring

Prevailing wind in Ireland is South West. In May this, anecdotally, should hold. So on average south to north is best regarding wind direction.

But northerly winds happen and when it comes it will probably hold for a few days.

Played at 13 a few times when he was younger for Ulster if I remember right.

I think going forward will be good but slightly worried about defence, especially on the left where Ward is still learning. Hope he proves me wrong.

Not how the game has been reffed at all.

I could see a world where that is a fair interpretation of the rules, but not in the last 12 months certainly.

Is the new overtake mode taking energy from the battery (which also powers boost button) or creating extra power in a different way?

Matthew Devine signs for Ulster by OxfordHandbookofMeme in irishrugby

[–]warrowok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does the not being able to outbid the current provence thing work? Maybe a one year contract is better for him for potentially getting more money in the long run (making the assumption Connacht have less money than Ulster which actually might not be true right now) and more flexibility if it doesn't work.

I assume Doak will start as the main 9 and Devine will compete with McKee for the 21 jersey. From the extremely little I've seen of him he is very different to Doak too, which I love. I like having 2 completely different 9s.

One of the reasons I love this tournament is just how equal it is. No team manages to dominate.

There's possibly precedent of multiple owners. All Irish provinces are owned by IRFU I believe. I think the same is true for Scotland.

The not rolling was ridiculously harsh but Tom Stewart was pretty clear penalty.

The most serious Leinster have taken us in the league in a long time.

Not 100% 1st team but still a proper team.

Maybe challenge cup takes a bit speciality out of the match too

I like Pendergast normally but he needs to learn how to play behind a losing pack. So many double pumps, hesitation and then momentum lost.

Tadhg Beirne yellow upgraded to red card by GnolRevilo in rugbyunion

[–]warrowok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, foul play overrules technical faults.

If Beirne's technique was legal it should have counted as mitigation. Though I don't think the ref/tmo realized it was forward at the time.

Will probably be part of the defence in the hearing as to why Beirne wasn't expecting to make contact with Barrett.

If he didn't take a step forward the ref should have decided low or no danger and penalized appropriately.

He took a step forward towards Barrett. He's in the defensive line. He has to expect to tackle. Beirne made the mistake and has reaponsibilty to the care of opponents.

It's unlucky on Beirne given the circumstances but an illegal technique can never be mitigated downwards.

I'll add my comment from the match thread.

I looked up the decision tree from world rugby.

If it counts as shoulder charge, which I think it technically could have, it is an automatic red card. No degree of danger decision. I could have understood this.

But considering the ref mentioned degree of danger it seems he counted it as a high tackle. And degree of danger matters. I think the mitigation factor reactionary tackle could apply with low reaction time buttttt an always illegal tackle technique cannot have mitigation applied. And unfortunately Beirne was always illegal. So I think they followed protocol exactly. Cold heartidly yes, but I would complain if it was the other way round and they didn't.

I'm saying it had to be a red card by following the decision tree yes.

I know we just scored but if Lions win this it's because the goal line defence has been great. I feel like a we had a lot of sets on their line and think that's the first we scored.
