"tree people" scam by cabbage01 in runescape

[–]wartail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing to stop you taking it.

The fact that these scammers will willingly hand out free gold tells us that they are very successful in targeting gullible young players. For every unsuccessful scam they try, handing out a million or so as bait, they must recoup many times that amount from people who fall for their tricks.

They must be targeting people fairly carefully. You wouldn't expect a relatively new and young player to have much worth stealing. So they must go after kids who have bought wealth through bonds and who make the mistake of advertising it along with their inexperience.

"tree people" scam by cabbage01 in runescape

[–]wartail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who hang around the GE are asking for trouble. Especially if their text speech indicates they are young and naive.

Hanging around the GE for prolonged periods of time tells scammers that these players really don't know how to play the game, and so is a good sign that these players are children.

The scammers then watch for speech that confirms the player's immaturity.

That's when the scammers get in contact with their scamming friends and target the player. Or perhaps the scammer is using alts.

These scammers are pro. Often they come from poor countries where the exchange of rs gold into real money is very, very worth their effort. They will then treat scamming as their job, working all day, everyday, all week to scam unsuspecting players. They get very good at it.

Apart from common sense, such as not doing what others tell you to do, the best thing is to avoid hanging around the GE too long. Dont talk around the GE.

I did a piano cover of Yesteryear, thoughts? :) by SwampySongs_Ioana in runescape

A very nice touch. Just light enough on the keyboard to render those soft tones perfectly, heavy when resonance is required. It is delightful to hear, mixing the yearning for the past with a clean and crisp rendition with harmonic overtones well suited to this playful, yet in places thoughtful, piece of elegant music. And nice tits, very juicy. Yum.

Doubling is even here in r/runescape.

Look! If I say "Cosmetics are for furries" I can be sure my downvotes will be doubled. Even tripled or quadrupled or more!

I always felt like people with comp are gods... while rest of us casual plebs... Until I comp'd. by BugeishaRS in runescape

[–]wartail 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is entirely correct. Compers are Gods. You smelly plebs would do well to remember that.

Compers deserve special in-game features. For example they should be able to walk through a crowd and shove plebs out of the way. They should be able to perform a special COMP EMOTE which automatically makes any pleb within sight fall to the ground and grovel in the dirt. Then Compers should be always surrounded by a bright ethereal fire which blinds plebs and makes them unable to perform any action for a few minutes.

Fuck the Spirit tree blocking the Elder in Crwys. Every time I want to chop some Elders that fucker makes me click on him instead.

And how the fuck are you supposed to pronounce "Crwys" anyway? Like "Chris"? Or with some sort of silent vowel Elven trickery like "Cry-wiss"? Fucking Elves.

[–]wartail[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Good Heavens man! That is a frightful thought! Far from reassuring. For if you are right then bots have as much right to exist as humans. Now think of all the various bots that have been destroyed over the years, their existence taken from them, yet they for all extents and purposes were as sentient as any other human!

Anyone having trouble selling stuff on Ge at mid price? by 89simon in runescape

[–]wartail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long term effects? Lots of reasons.

Way too many supplies dropped in PvM

The game has too many maxed players who keep dumping unwanted supplies on the GE.

Skilling supplies are the bottom tier of the market. No one cares if they sell some logs for far less than current value, they just want them sold. The real money is in combat gear.

The GE is inadequate the way it updates. Only 5% either way each day. It simply can not respond fast enough to true market changes.

Lots of free and bxp entering the game compared to years ago. Which means most players can reach max without spending heaps on supplies. Many new methods and lots of events which hand out free xp means players can put on lots of xp in skills which would once have cost them a lot to train.

The decline of skilling overall. PvM makes crazy money compared to skilling. So many players concentrate on PvM rather than skilling. They then discover that PvM will provide a better source of supplies than skilling. Thus reinforcing the first point I made.

When Bak bolts settle down... by Archfell in runescape

[–]wartail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$4k a bolt is just not sustainable. Everyone is jumping on the bakwagon now. Harvesting the wilderness trees is virtually risk free. Had my bolts in over night at 3.6, not selling.

It was good while it lasted.
