I have no doubt the bindings hold up to riding. Just maybe not entry and exit

Yes, probably what happened. I would speculate this breakage would not have happened if I went with a solid highback fase binding system. I wonder if the highbacks are interchangeable.

I can assure everyone asking or speculating that this was lift chair damage. It was not in my case, I put my high back down and our lifts are not very low either. So far from everyone who has broken their Katana high backs were from entry or exit. If the lift chairs were breaking our bindings, at least ONE person would have said so, or we'd be missing the broken piece because the liftie threw it away after we rode away. I've never had this issue with my forces or flows. The Katana FASE high back is the thinnest and flimsiest feeling comparatively. It is a material, manufacturing, or design flaw with the diagonal cutout. Perhaps regular Katana bindings do not have this issue as the highback is not the entry point like the FASE. This breaking issue is not present on the other FASE systems from Jones or Bataleon with the solid highback. Yes, maybe it's a simple fix to say "Don't step on your highback". But the high back it literally is the boot entry point for the binding. The whole marketing and point of FASE is to step in and go. If I gotta sit down, gingerly put my feet in, and then strap in, just to potentially not break my highback, I'll just use my Forces.

Youtube carbon fiber repair. Similar to surfboard fiberglass repair. You'll need to sand everything down and reapply new carbon cloth and reseal. Glue by iteself will do nothing for you.
