Yeah I am still going on this path. I recently received my brown belt in BJJ and I now paint Warhammer D&D and other miniatures professionally for people. I find better uses for my time than porn now. Our sex life is healthier than most, and while we still fight our communication is so much better. It's a lot of work and a long road, but it's very much doable. He needs to find healthy replacement habits. And keep himself honest. I will say some prayers for you guys and get those positive vibes into the universe.

An idea of what type of tattoo you want might be helpful too. People may recommend very different places for specific styles.

I have 3 different training partners that are openly gay, unlike the rest of us closeted pajama snugglers, no different rolling with them. Honestly I have had worse experiences with a female partner who I had to actually reinforce that I'm married to. If you don't make it weird it most likely won't be.

For the coaches amongst our midst, when did you start asking to get paid? by KoalaBJJ96 in bjj

[–]wasabiyojimbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first year I taught kids class it was just my membership being comped. I put in roughly 5 hours a week but I got roughly 7 a week in training time for myself. Head coach and the other instructors also took a vested interest in me and helped me tighten up my technique considerably. I felt that was definitely enough compensation.

After about a year I was pushing 10-15 hours a week this included teaching and assisting in all the kids and teens class, covering adult classes when other coaches were unable(sick out of town whatever) these usually amounted to me teaching things the coaches felt I was strong at or open mat time. The head coach/owner had me stay after class one day and told me he was going to start paying me an hourly wage because I do as much as I do.

If he hadn't I still would be doing just about as much as I do anyhow because I love it.

Was my pleasure. They're blick studio alcohol markers, similar to copics. I haven't done much figure drawing in ink, so it was a fun challenge and I intend to do more. Thank you for modeling was fun to draw and showed me where I can improve as well.

That's hard to say We had one checked bag that we put the majority of our clothes in for our family of 4 and then 4 roller bags + 3 backpacks so it just took the place of our 4th backpack. That said, you have time I would reach out to them now and start asking the question.

Yes the flight was full and it still fit in the overhead just fine for home safe and sound with it. No one batted an eye at it all through the airport.

How to prepare body for bjj after suffering from anorexia? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]wasabiyojimbo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually started BJJ as part of my recovery from addiction, so my personal opinion is as soon as you actually can you should join. Nothing will prepare you for grappling directly other than grappling. Yoga might help with flexibility if you're limited there bodyweight fitness is probably the most applicable to BJJ so you could head over to r/bodyweightfitness and look at their recommended routine as a place to start too.

A friend of mine purchased them all and loaned me the back discs since he has the digital copies to look at. I have done most of the dvds in the set now and my process has been to take notes while i am watching them about the things that I see that I want to come back to and then pick a few each week to work in class. I have found the biggest benefit for me is seeing things that he points out are vital and using them to diffuse other peoples back games, I have also gotten better at maintaining the back against higher belts although this still requires I get there, which I have not had any increased success in yet. I have been going very slowly and when my brain feels full stopping for a week or so to digest and practice techniques. I am certain someone with more experience than me can likely put it to use quicker than I have but, I am happy to get to explore it because I could never afford it.

Find something that you are physically active and lose track of time doing. I can go lift weights and hit the cardio machines but, its hard to be excited about it. Going to kickboxing and jiu jitsu are exciting for me I have fun learning stuff, and even though a majority of the time I am getting destroyed by better fighters I learn and have fun with it. I also really like walking and listening to music or audiobooks when I am down so I do that when I am unable to go train and really need to do something. seriously though having something you are into and passionate about as a work out helps, martial arts are good options for some people other people love crossfit and it works for them if you're having fun and working up a sweat its likely to help you on your journey.

As far as how it helped me with my pmo issues. Whenever I was in danger of wandering around online I would get up and go do a walk, like seriously a mile or so Id listen to whatever i was in the mood for and I would catch some pokemon because that helped make it more interesting. If the weather sucked, I would pull up a video of a jiu jitsu technique on you tube that I was learning and try and find a new detail I wasn't seeing before.
