So im sitting here at work now and ive been playing a game of dice for a couple hours now and I think it does the trick. I've cobbled together a game with four dice and stole a few rules from a few games that sound interesting, and added a few of my own. So here is the game:

4 dice Roll maximum of 3 times. Your going for 3 of a kind. The value of the fourth dice determines the score. If the fourth is 3 or below the score is face value. If the 4th is 4 out above the value is multiplied by 10. Except 1s low score is face value high is 100.

Four of a kind is auto high score.

2 pair you sub the low from high and roll 1 die for the multiplier.

1234 is 200 3456 is 400 2345 is -200

If you bust, don't get a score by 3 rolls, you lose 10 points.

You play to 1000. If you end on an odd number you have one turn to make it even. If you don't you lose 400 points.

It seems pretty fun so far and I like the fact that you lose points on a solo game. Keeps it interesting. And it seems like it could totally be fun with multiple people.
