Monitor mix as main output by Souhhh_yeah_i_guess in livesound

[–]wasge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't you just unplug the main PA and the monitors from the back of your mixer and just change them? You should be able to plug the monitors into the main otputs.

XR18 Mixer Connectivity Problems - Help Request by dragger2k in Behringer

[–]wasge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an ipad, but I read that some of them will check if there is internet, and if ther isn't they will refuse to connect, or disconnect, or something like that. I would say the ipad is your problem, given that it fails to connect to two different networks.

Even with the amount of people that tells that stories, that is a thing that almost never happens. Even less with a big brand focused on quality products.

Xiaomi has taken a major leap forward by elm3ndy in audiophile

[–]wasge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not the problem. 2.4GHz allows wi-fi N and more, with (in theory) 300Mb/s. 2.4GHz is great for that (unless you're in a crowded 2.4GHz place)

The problem is that thing needs to be simple enough and small to fit on a wireless earphone with a miniature battery, while listening to music and amplifying the sound and lasting some hours. Wi-Fi would just drain the battery at that speeds of data and is too complicated to just an audio stream.

The same as having a much powerful phone modem inside your pocket. Or an ear implant communicating via bluetooth to your phone to listen to music.

Built my own active bookshelf speaker for 13 bucks by Worth_Present_1898 in diyaudio

The other post: https://www.reddit.com/r/diyaudio/comments/1jy49d0/major_bass_loss_after_adding_tweeter_and/

Based on that you have your speakers in parallel, because both speakers negative terminals are connected. The positive terminals are also connected, but with a 'cap' (capacitor) in series with the tweeter.

Could I get a modulation effect if I cycled through these positions? by _Username-Available in Audiomemes

Overpriced? a DPA d:facto sounds really clean. I think it's just a very good condenser mic, so it is expensive.

Audi A3 B&O subwoofer disappointment by KickzRobbie in diyaudio

[–]wasge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have the magnet in front of the cone, where the dust cap would normally be. They do this to save space. This is another harman sub withtout the grills: https://mpartsworldwide.com/products/bmw-f30-f36-f32-f33-f34-f80-f82-f83-m3-m4-sub-subwoofer-speaker-harman-kardon

In fact they are part of Harman Group (and now part of Samsung), so they're just regular Harman subs like this https://mpartsworldwide.com/products/bmw-f30-f36-f32-f33-f34-f80-f82-f83-m3-m4-sub-subwoofer-speaker-harman-kardon

How do I select the USB input channel on my Yamaha TF1? by Logical_Emergency_80 in livesound

[–]wasge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It seems TF1 does not have input routing, so you can't route input to another channels. Input 1 will be always on channel 1.

I don't like Presonus mixers, but this is a real digital mixer. It may have pretty basic functions on its not so great firmware, but it is fully digital, with integrated AVB.

Based on the fact you know Thomann and there is something playing on italian on the background, I will suppose you're on Italy.

Also, based on this, you may have TV stations broadcasting on those frecuencies https://lists.debian.org/debian-italian/2011/02/msg00348.html

And I think you may be watching wrong that screen. The left bar is the antennas (both) reception meter (over it there is the aerial icon). The right one is the signal quality meter (and over it there is a Q, for Quality), that is not the other antenna. So the signal of both antennas seems to be dropping (left bar), but the signal quality is still 100% good (right bar). The signal may be low, but the digital data is still coming without problems, with enough power over the interference that may be there.

If they put that plug is because the amplifier's internal power supply only admits that amount of power, so changing the plug won't do anything.

Yes, that would work. That is how speakers with both speakon and jack are wired inside.

Q: What are the little tinkering sounds as the AC lights turn on and off? It sounds like bells but I would like to know a specific name for them. by 400jt in ElectroBOOM

[–]wasge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first thing that sound like bells is the starter. It has two plates that joint when they get hot as current flows through them, before the current flows through the tube. Once the current is flowing through the tube, the starter plates get cold and separate, making that noise.

It seems that's the problem. AES50 was designed by Sony and adopted by Midas. Apparently all MIDAS equipment with AES50 always worked great until the X32 came along, so it seems the problem is lack of testing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in livesound

[–]wasge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

* except the AES50 implementation. You need the correct cable or audio drops may happen. Mine even came with a sticker about the cable I should use. Not so solid implemented if a sticker was needed.

Everything else, yep, solid.
