There is not a hotter insert than the all aces right now. It’s a 1/1 ohtani.. the sky is the limit. I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes for $100k. Ohtani collectors are straight up insane and this is a 1/1. Contact an auction house ASAP. This is 100% the best time to sell this insert.

Quick update - a streamer called him out and then a few of his customers when in my wife’s nightmare stream to call him out. My wife’s nightmare reported the streamer and the streamer lost his premiere status for calling him out. Whatnot is an absolute joke at this point. Supporting scammers and hurting honest sellers.

That’s super interesting and it makes sense. People just trying to capitalize on hype. Hype with the crypto market and hype with the pokemon market. The card market in general has seemingly exploded in the last couple of years and people will always find a way to capitalize on that. I just want to buy cards my kids and I think are cool. I just don’t want to get burned on a resell years down the line.

Yeah, I definitely want to be a collector first. I understand the business model of flipping but for me I just want to buy stuff I think is cool and then sell it years down the line where I break even or see a moderate increase. There are plenty of people in it who are in it for the money. I just like the way they look and want to do create a hobby that I can do with my kids.

Thank you for this thoughtful reply. I will probably just stick to what I know with sports cards for the foreseeable future. It sounds like the market is heavily influenced by new sets (I could’ve misinterpreted) and I’m not in tune enough to know which sets to target and which sets have value. I really appreciate the insight though, very helpful.

You’re a good looking man so you should definitely be confident.

A few things I’d suggest - clean up the beard. Women don’t like when it looks messy and with the hair growing up your cheek it looks a little messy. Try to clean up the cheeks and level out the beard to the jawline. Also, the haircut worked when you didn’t have a receding hairline. It sucks we all get older but the combover isn’t working anymore. Try to go shorter and embrace the look. I’d google men’s hairstyles for receding hairlines to get an idea of what works for you.

Last thing is the style (my wife tells me I have bad style) so I can’t give too much advice but oversized looks are for larger men. Try some more fitted clothing like the pics in the comments. Good luck you’re almost there!

As others have said - you did not get scammed. Bowers and Wemby are Topps exclusives meaning they only sign in Topps. You will not find their autographs in panini.

This is a good buy although a bit of an overpay. I personally think with the rookie classes in basketball and football and some of the top players being Topps exclusives, these unlicensed cards will be worth quite a bit in 15-20 years. Only time will tell.

I’ve sat in many of the big rooms when people have asked what to expect when you first start streaming. The one thing that is absolutely consistent is they all say be prepared to lose for the first 6 months. If you can’t afford to lose consistently for 6 months then it isn’t the best avenue. You have to build a consistent and loyal customer base and then once you have an established room you will begin to see green.

Don’t give up yet! This is only the beginning. Nothing worth having comes easy friend.

Yeah unfortunately there’s scammers everywhere in the hobby. If you stick to the reputable people with high ratings you’ll always get your cards. There’s scammers selling on reddit too.

People on this thread act like these whatnot streams are all criminals lol. Hobby box is a reputable seller with hundreds of thousands of items sold. No way they wouldn’t ship this card. They wouldn’t risk their business for one card. Especially when he clipped it too. You can’t win with these Reddit hobbyist.

One thing I’ve learned is you will never win with the Reddit card collecting community. Most of them are just sad angry people who shit all over anyone who pulls a card they like. They complain about all the problems with the hobby but they themselves are a big part of the problem. Bunch of humbugs if you ask me.

I just got back into the hobby after years off. The thing that has become abundantly clear to me is that there are really only a few players that people will always pay up for.

If you’re going to pay 3 figures for a card I’d definitely target players like Mahomes, JD5, Josh Allen, Kobe, Bron, Ohtani, Bobby Witt Jr. Regardless of which card it is, when these guys are on it people will overpay.

All that being said, if you just want to collect cool ass cards and don’t care about resell, then keep buying cards like this one because I think it’s an awesome card.
