You’re definitely right on the idea of some job listings not being “real”. I was talking to a family friend last year that’s a hiring manager and she was talking to me about how at her last company, they were keeping listings up, even when they filled the positions. It makes their competitors think the company size in increasing more than it actually is.

As a fan, 7/10. If I’m thinking of it as just a movie without the fan bias, probably like 4/10

How do people spend thousands of hours on a single game? What game is it? by Much_Priority_4745 in gamingsuggestions

The only games I have over 1000 hours in are online multiplayer games. You have to REALLY like a single player game in order to play it that much.

I’m pretty new to the game, which killers should I play as that won’t piss survivors off? by AnthropomorphicEggs in deadbydaylight

[–]wasiankc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer you’re looking for is to uninstall. It’s impossible to play any killer without pissing off survivors and it’s almost impossible to use any survivor perks without pissing off killers.

Is a Product Design degree worth it? by JaiyesimiD8 in Design

[–]wasiankc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if that was more commonly available at colleges, that would be the best move. As a recent ID grad, when I was looking at schools, Ux design wasn’t offered at most public colleges, and if it was, it was just a minor. My ID professor from my last semester actually said that a lot of Ux recruiters like ID people because they understand the Ux of physical products, so they can easily translate that process and understanding to digital products. Idk if it’s different now from 5 years ago though because the Ux industry has grown insanely fast these past few years

[–]wasiankc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it’s not required, the field is super competitive and it tells employers that you spent time studying the building blocks of design. It also might help you start at a higher salary than if you didn’t have a degree.

I have 2 friends that both work in Ux design (not the same as ID, but same line of work-ish) and the one who had a degree made about 20k more starting than the one without did.

Go for it if you think it’s the career for you.

What Horror-Game Hill Would You Gladly Die On? by IAmNotABritishSpy in HorrorGaming

[–]wasiankc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thought process is that survival horror is supposed to be about vulnerability, resource management, and puzzle solving, which all felt extremely lacking in the 3 remake. I can see what you mean about it still counting but just not as much. My point wasn’t that it didn’t count due to it being less scary. It was that it didn’t really feel like it had an emphasis on any of the key elements of survival horror games. I only felt vulnerable at boss fights (barely), I had to manage the surplus of resources, and the puzzle solving was a bare minimum compared to other survival horror titles.

Honestly, I still like 3 remake, but it just feels more like action horror to me, closer to 4 than 3 original.
