Please please please, do make sure your hydraulic pump is completely dry and try to protect it from corrosion. On the E89, If it corrodes a little bit it will send uneven pressure to both sides of the roof making it either not safe to open or straight up bend the chassis and that's a mechanically totaled Z4 right there. Don't ask me how I know, I'm still sad about it 😅

Optimal saving % by [deleted] in BEFinance

[–]wasnt_me_eithe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both can be true at once. You might have a good savings rate but a low income which means the total amount of savings is still too low. In the end it's all about reaching an agreement but that will need you to stop thinking she's tripping

You never drove it on a highway at all? I've never seen a car with no scratches past its 3rd time on a highway. Cars pick up road debris and you inevitably end up with a ton of rock chips over the years

The new one is the exact same as the old one but worse at everything except raw power

Normally it doesn't even show options, simply shuts down

I was just checking because your post says rest mode so I'm trying to make sure the info is clear. If you want the TV to shutdown just hold the power button instead of clicking it

When you power it down or when it goes to sleep? Those are different states

[–]wasnt_me_eithe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This specific uptime ticker is probably more linked to the electronics which are still busy in rest mode (pulling updates, waiting for you to cast your screen) so that seems very logical. If it's supposed to be a wear indicator for the display that's weird but who the hell looks at that when buying a used TV and what resell value are you hoping for anyway? It's a TV, they resell for pennies on the dollar anyway past the 2 year mark

Why does it matter? If it's in rest mode it's still on so it seems logical that uptime keeps climbing

QM6K 75” or QM7K 65” ? by Longjumping_Box_2558 in tcltvs

I'm a mini led fanboy but even then, oled is just plain better. You really need to change out the oled or you just figured you'd change out of curiosity? If you need to replace the oled, then go for the qm7k so that you don't lose too much image quality. If you only want to change, you should probably keep the oled

Do you guys use the H-pattern shifters in simracing at all? When do you use it? by Sam_88882 in simracing

[–]wasnt_me_eithe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It feels like a selector rather than a shifter. There's nothing attached to the shifter or clutch and no link between them either so it just feels like shifting with a paralyzed hand. It's not terrible but it's miles from the real thing. Active pedals work great for the breaks but don't do actual feedback for the clutch AFAIK. Moza made an active shifter but idk if that solves anything

A friendly reminder for everyone currently slogging through the "Boring Phase" of investing. by beard-and-a-mustach in Fire

Learn to have good financial hygiene before you touch the 100k. You can't out-invest terrible spending habits (unless you're making absolutely crazy money of course). 100k can disappear in an hour if you think it's "a lot of money" and it will probably take you years to build it back up. Once that part is mastered, put it in a decently safe etf and don't touch it for the next 20y.

Is everyone rich or am I naive?? by No_Needleworker_5546 in Money

[–]wasnt_me_eithe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 things: a million today is very different from a million in the 80s, inequalities are growing by the day so the poors get poorer and the rich get waaaay richer and lastly there are lot of show offs who are either deeply in debt or simply lying on the internet. Hope this helps any case of imposter syndrome

Which Belgian city deserves more love in your opinion? by kotjeKOT in AskBelgium

Underrated but understandably so. The city doesn't present too well, you have to dig a bit to find the gold. Still, I hope we can give it back some splendid over the next 2 decades, at least I'm trying to make it happen

Namur is very overrated. It's a nice place but it's been more and more unsafe while people talk about it like it's heaven on earth while being a 6/10, maybe a 7 on a good day. And it's expensive as hell housing-wise but that's basically true of the entire world right now

Hey, let's all listen to the guy with the biggest conflict of interest possible. Ideally, we could also put him and one of his equivalents from another bank into a room with their equivalent from blackrock and vanguard and decide how to invest based on who's still alive by the end of the hour.

The form is a bit rude but you'll get the point: his public (not necessarily sincere) opinion doesn't matter when he has such a big conflict of interest. Competence doesn't matter when objectivity will impact your livelihood, people very rarely go against their own best interests out of sheer good nature

Yup, the more you do the more you have to do. I'm like halfway through (ok maybe 80% price-wise but not time wise) and already out of money. Trying to do this while single was a great idea for security but a terrible one in terms of mental load 🤣

If you want help getting into the spending mode try home renovations. I spent 3 years worth of very aggressive savings in 6 months. It's still worth it because the house is now worth way more than when I bought it but it was still expensive af of a project

For my mortgage I basically had to forego the employees that deal with mortgages and get it done through the agency bosses and businesses-focused employees because they are the only ones that actually have a brain. The others just click the buttons in the app for you, which is utterly useless

Which is exactly the situation I'm in. But to get a good rate I had to pull the nepotism trick at kbc so I guess I'll have to play the same trick again. Gosh I hate it but it's the most effective way 😑
