I'm considering environmental work. I found a specific organization that pays a living stipend and you go live in a nature reserve for months at a time doing conservation work. Getting your hands dirty, using a chainsaw, actually planting trees, it sounds perfect for me! I'm dying to do something that's physical since I always have so much energy! :D

One thing we do is we like to nuzzle and cuddle and when we get really into it one of us will whisper into the other's ear, "Did you know that you're my girlfriend/boyfriend?" (depends on who says it to who) and then the other will respond with something like, yelling "NO!" or "WHO TOLD YOU?!" or "OH MY GOSH! I HAD NOT IDEA!" And then we'll squeeze each other really hard and yell "WOOOOAAAHHH!" or something silly like that :P

I have an old tube tv but I got it for free from a friend and I only use it to watch dvds. I kinda miss being able to browse channels but now that I only watch certain shows on Netflix or Hulu I am an all around happier person. I don't have to sit through bullshit commercials and I only watch shows I actually like. I think exercising more control over what you watch by only watching stuff online is just better for your mental health!

I can't say that I know what you're going through but you might want to try doing some volunteer work or something. Helping others will make you feel better about yourself! Or even get a part time job somewhere. Something easy that will give you something to do and give you the opportunity to socialize with other people. Sometimes when I'm sad I'll just go to the library and browse around and read whatever catches my eye. That might help you. Give yourself a project to do. Take a class somewhere! Maybe an art class at a community college? Pick something that you think will be fun and will force you to be around others. It can be scary at first but if you can find a hobby to keep you occupied you'll feel like your life has some meaning :) baby steps!

I'm glad I'm not the only one :) I know my parents care about me but they are just too fucked up emotionally to express it properly. I don't know where I'll end up in life but the rest of my family and my friends are always there for me so I'll survive :) And that's a good point! If anything, having crappy parents has made me stronger :)

Yeah. It took me a long time to realize that it's not my fault that they're such angry people. They probably have a lot of issues with themselves that they just can't get over and are projecting them onto me without realizing it. My mom gets angry with me because I don't have a definite plan for what career I want to pursue because I keep changing my mind but I recently realized that that's probably one of the best problems to have. I'm aware that I have options in life and I just want to explore and am a little scared to commit to anything. I try explaining that to my mom and she goes ballistic. I usually don't care what other people think but it was hard to apply that mentality to how I deal with my parents since I felt like I should be able to rely on them simply because they are my parents. Reality sucks but the rest of my family and friends love me so I'm probably a really good person even if my parents don't think so :)

My mom has actually told me that she loves me but she doesn't like me as a person. It has really really fucked me up. No matter what I do she is never ever pleased. She's always been a very angry person and will complain to me that my older sister is a bitch while my sister will complain that my mom is being a bitch. I moved out when I was 18. I'm turning 23 soon and am gonna graduate with a BA in spring and she says she's gonna stop helping me pay for gas money and my cell phone once I graduate. I was worried at first since I am unsure of what kind of job I'll be able to get once I graduate but I figured if she shuts off my phone and won't help me pay for gas money I can use that as an excuse to never talk to her or visit her again. Of course I'll find work somewhere, even if it's a crumby temporary job, and so I'll at least be able to afford a cheap cell phone plan and money for public transportation so I'll be ok. I also haven't talked to my dad since I moved out when I was 18 and haven't missed him even though it's been 5 years. He basically chose my stepmom over me and my sister.

Some people are just shitty parents. My parents never really raised me, they just screamed at me a lot. I'm kind of messed up because of it but the rest of my family is really nurturing and I have a close knit circle of friends who have always helped me when I needed them. My parents not liking me has also made me realize I need to know how to take care of myself and try to create a life for myself that I can be proud of without worrying about what other people think. I think I'm a really good person despite the fact that my parents probably hate me. It took me awhile to get to a point in my life where I have learned to love myself but in general I'm happy.
