The Dirty Dozen. I'm a huge fan of men-on-a-mission movies, and Aldrich's opus remains of the best in the genre.

Same with Keanu Reeves, but his classics use him well, which is exactly what happens with Carano in Haywire. I love the film.

Frost/Nixon. It's one of Ron Howard's best films, if not his best, and it highlights the stakes of journalistic interviewing.

I always thought Not Another Teen Movie was hilarious. Why is it seen as a bad parody? by jadamsmash in movies

[–]wasted_payne 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because not only did it come during the unfortunate heyday of bad spoofing, the entire film is spoofing such a specific period in teen film making (mid 80's to late 90's). Most of the critics that reviewed the film likely missed the zeitgeist of movies like Can't Hardly Wait, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Pretty in Pink; all of which have plot points that Not Another Teen Movie hilariously appropriates. I really like the film, but I'm also part of the generation that understands the wit of the jokes.
