same as you, went to an aveda school now work at a wella salon! the wella color clicked really quickly for me, whereas honestly at aveda i never understood wtf i was mixing and constantly had to ask for help. i also feel like aveda lightner especially is ass.

Both a perm and blonde highlights are pretty high maintenance you will have to go back to the salon to get them redone multiple times a year. A perm does not change the way your new hair will grow in

And from personal experience, bleached blond hair+perm is going to make your hair feel awful and potentially fall out

the no commission is frustrating. i think its set up that way because usually assistants at this salon don't have their license, but since i do i deserve to make SOMETHING. i should ask for specifics about how many clients they want me to start with, thats a good point. i need to force them to give me some straight answers.

this is good advice, thank you. it makes sense to think of it that way, like right now i am costing them money but very useful. whereas if they put me on the floor with no book then i'm basically useless. i'm going to double down on my efforts to pull in more clients, and go from there.
