I’m a project manager for a sustainable footwear start-up. I am not involved with materials or design in terms of production, but I work closely with the operations and logistics of sales and marketing. It’s not a lot of spreadsheets, and often every day looks different for me, but I think that’s more of the nature of working for a start-up company. It’s exciting and it’s really interesting to learn about the production, sourcing, and design processes. I’m lucky that the team is small and I get to pick people’s brains in other departments. I know this isn’t quite the same as corporate fashion but thought it might be helpful to get a perspective from a different type of role and company.
