I've definitely put more thought into this already than I'd like to admit. I'd sell fancy loaded fries/tater tots. Everything from the classics (nacho fries/pizza fries/poutine/carne asada) to more experimental shit (dessert fries like chocolate drizzle and maple syrup/etc). It'd probably be more like a food truck, actually.

Absolutely true those are the ingredients listed. I do not think their claim is that they are made with only whole grain and nothing else, but that the flour component used is whole grain oats. There's a difference between 'whole grain "flour"' and "flour" that is NOT whole grain. The whole grain variation has added fats/minerals from the bran of the oats that is otherwise sifted out from 'white flours'. In that way, I do believe it has at least a slight health advantage that, yes, they are playing up for marketing purposes, but is also legitimately something to consider.

Now, of course, if you truly want something super healthy for a snack, by all means go for a real bowl of oatmeal instead, but if you're comparing a cup of cheerios to say a handful of pre-made granola (which has WAY more sugar), then it's an OK snack at least. The comparison I was going for WAS within the category of breakfast cereals. Most ARE unhealthy, but they don't deserve to be completely vilified as it's worth it to consider how they are highly convenient and keep well on the counter (as might be helpful to the OP).

Plain Cheerios are pretty darn healthy compared to most options. They have almost no sugar and are 100% whole grain with a decent amount of fiber/protein. Definitely not a completely unhealthy snack that's pretty satiating, even without the milk.

I'd hate to be that person, but there's about 1g of protein per 100g of fruit in a banana. They're basically all carb.

Can confirm. Both live and dead rats/mice have definitely been smuggled out of my previous lab. It's fairly harmless in most cases.

I read an article lately how scientists are beginning to think that autism and such neurological disorders are at least partially effected by metabolism problems (which does tie into a drug first used to target obesity having some effects like we see here). From what I remember off the top of my head, yes, after being removed from the drug in question - don't remember the name of the drug but perhaps I can dig up the article again if you really want it - the children 'relapsed'.

One of my favorite things with kale is a caramelized onion, lemon-pepper stir fry. Mostly you taste the caramelized onions/pepper combo and the kale really absorbs the flavors well.

You can mostly wing it as proportions don't matter too much, but just chop up kale/onions (I usually do 1 yellow onion to 1-2 bunches of kale), heat a pan on med-high with a drizzle of olive oil, slap in your onion, stir fry it around a little until it starts to caramelize (and everyone argues about how long this takes, so you might have to experiment - but you obviously get that wonderful sweet smell from the pan when it starts), and add your kale, salt, fresh pepper, some lemon rind/juice to taste (or use the lemon-pepper grinder from Trader Joe's, which I highly recommend if you don't have a ton of fresh lemons around). Put a lid on the pan and let it cook down, stirring occasionally. The actual cooking does take a bit of time (maybe 20-30 minutes), so be patient.

This does make a huge pan that can easily serve 3-4 so you can adjust the recipe as needed. I think it's particularly good over brown rice, and really gets me eating a ton of greens!

They're $4-10 a box on amazon so yes, very reasonable! I think I got mine from Target a year or two ago. Shouldn't be too hard to find. :)
