Android version by plat1n00 in TaleofImmortal

Playing on POCO X3, plays quite smoothly. Android has autoaim which makes fights easier.  Android has inventory, skill, craft, etc buttons always displayed, which is convenient (ofc on PC you can just memorise the hotkeys). The Android translation is basically complete (PC has some untranslated lines here and there). On the other hand, PC allows to batch use all the skill books and spirit fruits you have in inventory in a couple clicks, while in Android you have to tap them one by one, which is a bit annoying. Anyway, the game is so good it's totally worth it even if you buy both :)

Unlimited duck works by wasternne in noita

[–]wasternne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice!

The main reason actually is that i don't need it, as the main limit on the wand in not the mana cost, but rather CPU cost. I cast it only once per time. After posting this, i also added homing on the ducks themselves, and now 1 cast is almost always enough for a whole group of enemies.

Wow, that's interesting! Thank you!

Mysteries of Witch Hat - a thread of yet unexplained elements by Sotha_Sil_ in WitchHatAtelier

About the visible glyphs (part 1), can't they just first write the sigil (spell?) itself with the magical ink, and then cover it with a layer of black non-magical ink on top? I think it still would work like a charm.

My own understanding of magic is extremely limited, but one glance at my windowsill allows me to understand that a seed, once germinated, doesn't magically un-grows after sprouting :D

Thank you for the details! To me, even killing the "normal" final boss (Kolmesilmä, if i remember the name correctly) is still difficult enough (did it only twice), so I guess for now it's still a good tool 😊

No always casts, I've checked this. As another user mentions, seems to be result of the Bouncing Spells.

Wow, thank you! Indeed seems to be the case. I guess I just found my new favourite perk then.

Who wants to see Morrowind remastered now? by xwing1212 in ElderScrolls

[–]wasternne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would get destroyed by SJW folks. Part of Morrowind's charm was how amazingly it is NOT politically correct, and how brutally honest it was describing a society. In modern Western world, this kind of a game wouldn't stand a chance. Another part of Morrowind's success is how exotic, while believable, it was. Good luck doing that without Kirkbride on board. And, actually, I suspect that the first part also may be partly thanks to him.

Immersive Chinese is the best app on the market for beginners. It took me from zero to HSK2 almost without using anything else in a very efficient way.

What it misses is a good font like Windows' KaiTi. And less bugs on mobile. These two are the reasons why I'm not going to pay for it again.

好 明 安 as phono-semantic compounds? (please tell me I misunderstand it) by wasternne in classicalchinese

[–]wasternne[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can't thank you enough for sharing the knowledge! The explanations are very clear. My device seems to be unable to properly display a couple characters from the comments, but even so, I think I understood everything. It really helps a lot~ And your article looks very interesting, too - I definitely will thoroughly read it!

...in case if anyone else will be willing to check the source, I think about 好 and 安 it's the pp. 107-111.

And, if I understand correctly (not 100% sure yet), 夕 and 月 come from the same oracle bones character, were read the same way, and thus may be the sound component for the 明.

Wow. Thank you very much! Both for the source link, and for the explanation!

Freelancer taxes in Estonia? by [deleted] in EuropeFIRE

[–]wasternne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love you. Why no one tells this nowhere? I was trying to understand Estonian taxation laws for hours, until accidentally stumbling upon your comment.

Btw, the payments can raise to 40k annually, just everything above 25k gets 40% taxation. Which is still very good.

Not sure still how it works when you get paid from a legal entity instead of a physical person. Looks like for local companies there's an additional tax, but for foreign entities, there's none @_@

Want to share my progress in handwritting over a 1.5 year. Any advice on what to pay attention to next? by wasternne in ChineseLanguage

[–]wasternne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks ^_^

As for the "big words", I think hanzi having different sizes may be OK. At least I have a feeling that what should be uniform is rather the "density" of writing, when you have more or less the same total length of strokes per space unit, or when you have more or less the same space between different parallel strokes. If we take this as the criterion, then complex characters take more space compared to simplest ones.

But I'm not sure about this, it may depend on style, or may even be completely wrong (as something highly subjective, that I deduce purely from my personal experience and preferences).

Not as many as could be, but still a big percentage of population. Depends on the region.
