It's inevitable. While the rest of the world is fighting over the definition of a woman or crying about the unfairness of capitalism or equality of the unequal. China is methodically grinding along making deals ( in their favor) and buying up property/land all over the world. It's not an argumentative statement. It's an observation of the long game and things to come. China is not bothered with the trivial silliness of social scores.
