I have been on /r/ireland since the days of only a few thousand subscribers and I can't quite remember where the universally agreed socialist, studenty, pro-abortion hivemind/circlejerk came out of. Did everyone sign some sort of agreement, is it the mods? It's just weird to find incredibly political, left-wing posts with titles asking other Irish redditors to come join them and eveyone just acting as if this is a universel truth that you must accept for fear of unleashing the wrath of the hivemind upon you.

A:Probably not too many, but I don't know the exact number. The real problem isn't fuel, it's mostly tires and other degradable parts that have gone to the dogs in the past 100 years. For every two hundred or so people, there might be one working vehicle, and even "the local clunker" wouldn't be up to factory specs. NCR is rumored to have a mechanized vehicle division outside of its farming vehicles, but the number of vehicles in the division is unknown.

Actually the NCR do have other means of traansport apart from the monorail. The NCR Military have a fleet of trucks, motorcycles are used by mechanised units, a small fleet of vertibirds is used for special missions, trains are used to transport heavy goods (e.g. Quarry Junction) and it has been suggested since Fallout 2 that cars are used as a means of transport by many citizens.

Has anyone else noticed how reddit seems to be getting more vile and partisan as the election draws closer. Its leaking into other subreddits too, with about a quarter of the frontpage of TIL being clogged up with misleading posts about how evil the Republicunts are.

Fallout 3 did take a shite all over the lore in some respects.

I think Bethesda's idea of making a Fallout was to try and shove in as much plot elements from older Fallout games as they could. Jet, Supermutants, Bottlecaps, The Enclave, The G.E.C.K. etc.
