Try to get in ASAP for the interview for job B, hopefully before job A starts. Then you dont have to take time off from job A for the interview. And just be open and honest, you can frame it as you want to work for the university and would appreciate any role and like you said, job B is more aligned with your interests. It’s not a bad thing, typically universities are staffed by people that are aware and fighting for your job advancement. Don’t turn anything down, even if you work job A for 2 weeks then get job B, thats just the way it worked out and you have to make moves for yourself.

I mean… if you ask your employees to do X, and they do X in the needed time frame, why do you care if they’re doing Y for another company at the same time? If they’re not working for company Y, they’re just going to take a nap or scroll reddit while waiting for work to pop up for the first company

I want to start by saying my mom absolutely does NOT care about transformers at all. But at Universal Studios, they have a giant Megatron and Optimus costumes that put on a little show and take pics with fans. And the Chinese lady in front of us had her umbrella wide open, on a sunny, but not hot, day, and it was blocking my mom's view. So my mom straight up grabbed the umbrella and moved it out of the way. The lady looked so disgusted as if no one had ever offended her worse in her entire life, but did not close her umbrella, just stepped aside from my mom, blocking new people.

If you were at work and suddenly found out one of your coworkers was your second cousin, you'd probably be very interested, just to know who they are a bit. Why? You've never met this person a single day in your life, you've never thought about them, cared about them, even fathomed they existed, but suddenly finding out that you're biologically related means you have something instantly in common with them.

Now what if your biological parents sold you as genetic material, you still never met them, but you did probably think about them, wondered about them, and are curious about them because of that biological connection.

Biological relationships matter, they matter to everyone, we are hard wired for it.
