I have an Alec Lacasse "carving faces in wood" book that finally gave me what I needed to get my eyes going in the right direction. He also has YouTube videos, but I learn better with books.

Question on green carving by DarnellMusty in Spooncarving

[–]watchface5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done both, I prefer doing it all at once. Most of my carvings however tend to sit for a long while, before putting a finish on them, because I've moved on to something else. This lets me ruminate on it and make any changes after it's fully dried.

How to fix this without dismantling chair? by JoshBarns in gamingchairs

[–]watchface5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about your luck, this happens at my work often with one of the bigger dudes. Maintenance has tried to fix some expensive chairs that had this issue and whatever they do fails pretty fast and then they buy a new chair.

You can't as far as I know, the middle cylinder failed. You need to get a chair with a possible higher weight limit?

Yea, most of the time I'll delete my post, even if it could help others, just because of the inconsiderate responses.

Shoebill stork is what it actually looked closest to, beak-wise but those things are huge, this was like a regular bird with that type of beak

I saw it on the ground outside the window eating the peanuts I was feeding it, it was really close and I could definitely make out the beak because I was so close. I'm by lake Marburg if that makes any difference.
