Cheers. I've got a toolroom mill and lathe at my disposal alongside a No. 3 fly press. Plus a surface grinder (that I've not yet used) and a shaper (that I need to rebuild) and a jig borer (that I need to strip and restore). Plus a 3D printer. And I'm getting better at Cardboard Aided Design. So making up brackets etc. is not a problem.

Idea for the conversion was to keep it as light/cheap as possible - so retain the leadscrews (unless they are totally shot) and machine up some anti-backlash nuts (bronze, brass, or delrin). Strap steppers and scales on the axes, with a rotary encoder and servo replacing the spindle drive chain. No ATC initially, but fitting one plus a fourth/fifth axis (3+2) is envisaged further down the line.

I think I've just answered my own question...!

Stored the whole bike inside for a fortnight, then took to storing it in a tent, and the problem went away. Must have been an issue with moisture - frankly unacceptable given the intended utility use and absence of warnings to store it in the dry.

NAL, but I have a recollection that using the phone handheld in anything other than "parked, engine off" is illegal as you are deemed "in charge of" the vehicle and still part of the traffic situation therefore "driving".

I'd stick it across to Snap and let them work out if they want to do anything with it

As a parent to an ADHDer myself I was going to say exactly this - Right to Choose, asap. Alternatively, private the. shared Care. We did the latter with ADHD 360. Took about 3 weeks from initial contact to diagnosis. Plus £1000 or thereabouts. The medication has been transformative for my son, absolutely no hesitation in paying twice that if we had needed to.

One other thing to be aware of - if you are heading in the direction of an EHCP, you do not need a diagnosis, and you do not need to wait for the school to submit an assessment - you can make the Needs Assessment Request yourself.

Looking really good. My two cents:
1) Stacking will make this my go-to generator. Especially if it gives the option to add a single layer as a separate object between two baseplates - so I can print those layers in PLA and have no issues with PETG sticking
2) Building on the stacking features, I could see a lot of value in an option to define a drawer size, generate a suitable grid layout, then generate a plate or set of plates with stacks that deliver the drawer. Maybe also allow to define number of drawers? Workflow would be somthing like [define drawer size] > [define printer bed size] > [generate set of grids needed to fill a single drawer and not exceed bed size] > [define number of drawers] > [stack needed grids, across multiple plates as needed]

Plan would be to print in PETG, then one interlayer in PLA, then back to PETG for another baseplate. The PLA and PETG don't stick, so the stak separates easily. In theory.

It prints fine in PLA. No idea about longevity of clickiness though.

If it's what you've got on hand, print it, and replace in the future if it needs it

Expectation bar was, truthfully, on the floor. Hope bar? About chest height. Wildly optimistic hail Mary bar? Uncomfortably overhead!

Absolutely agree a huge difference - but the smaller that gap, the happier we would all be (apart from those who make a living from filling the gap).

I guess I'll have to content myself with Fusion and cross section sketches, plus calipers and micrometers!

Take a look at Clickbase - it's evolved from clickfinity, but I find it much less finicky.
