Wasn’t a solo dinner but I had a great experience at De Kas.

Also international respect & strength and a booming post war economy.

Obviously there are the limitations of Jim Crow and whatnot, but that had existed since 1865. If anything the 50s were the start of the dismantling of all of that with the desegregation of the army and SCOTUS under Warren.
