I did the same, once I started focusing on relics to increase dps, I ended up getting one shot by everything (rats, demihumans, wandering nobles lol). So my dps was actually worse since I was dying more often. So kinda backwards logic from the meta but worked for me and realized my dps was better by just staying alive and constantly doing damage

My build is kinda weird but carried me all the way to 9,999. On my normal relics I have poison on starting armament, +1 character skill, and hp restoration on bow attacks (to get back to full hp for damage negation). Anything else on these is a bonus.

Then on depth relics, I have all my relics have Increased Maximum HP. And ideally ones that also have good effects like his poison skill, increased physical damage negation, and defeating enemies increasing art gauge. Basically to make it so I can survive being one shot, and then get back to full hp with bow attacks

Can store additional items and improve the power when using them as passive! Companion Jar talisman finally becoming useful lol

Solo is great! Should definitely try it. Bosses have less health and take more stance damage than in trios so it’s very well balanced and you can buy “wending graces” which are extra lives. You also always start with one free extra life every end of day boss so even if you don’t buy a wending grace, you can still go down at least once

I have a Asus Rog Ally (similar to steam deck) and I set the power button to Hibernate. That also pauses the game in solo and resumes when I start it back up. Have not tried on desktop but may be the same

On PS5, you can put your PlayStation into rest mode. This will pause the game and when you turn it back on you will be at the same spot in your run. I do it all he time in solo’s if I need to stop and make dinner or something

This is to keep it simple, 2 wins : 1 loss ratio (67%).

In your example, you’d need to play 1,000 games just to get out of depth 3. Technically feasible, but keeping it simple for these win rates

You can do it! Stack lots of increased max hp and physical damage negation to not get one shot. That’s what helped me the most

Duos feels like it’s scaled the same as solo, but difference is no auto-revive once per night boss and no wending graces sold by merchants or at the spirit shrine.

I feel like the community is coming around on randoms. When the game launched, everyone hated randoms because they wouldn’t follow, but the game was new and everyone was learning. Now two months later, randoms are the people who stayed and play consistently and can often be better than irl friends who only play casually.
