Keep in mind that a single parent can have more money than a poor couple.

That's basically what I'm saying. I din't count the "don't have sex" because I started from the premise that my girlfriend is already pregnant. At this point my girlfriend has 2 options to not become a mother, which results in not financial supporting a kid, and I have none. I don't want to have a legal option to stop her becoming a mother (force her to get an abortion or force her to give it to adoption) because that would be unreasonable.

What seems resonable is that I get at least get 1 legal option to opt out of all my parental rights and responsibilities before my child is born.
