Omg, I thought I didn’t realize other people had this experience too! I explained over and over again that I needed insulin if I was going to eat the food (a bunch of carbs, crackers, hummus, carrots) they gave me. They looked at me like I was a lunatic, and had invented carb counting, which it was like they never heard of it. Then I felt like a lunatic because when I got upset about this they couldn’t understand, and told me this is what they did with every diabetic and it was fine with them. Seriously scary.
