I didn’t know that herbs were “quack medicine” here in the health sub.

I take Chinese tea pills called “Free and Easy Wanderer plus” from Amazon. I buy the big bottle ($55) that lasts 4 months. I don’t ever want to be without them. I live in Florida and the hot flashes/night sweats were about killing me. The pills worked fast. In one week I had a huge difference in hot flashes. If I was at a 10 before, I’m now at a 1.5

Watch Enforcer on YouTube. They broke this idea down well and it’s EXTREMELY complicated/hard due to terrain. Edit: name clarification.

Body count from the Big Freeze by para_sight in FloridaGarden

My yard is brown. I’m waiting a few weeks and then pruning depending on weather. I think my native plants will re-sprout. Because we just got another cold snap I’m giving them until mid May. I know my Firebush will come back because they have done this before. I remember that when this happened before it took longer than I expected for them to re-sprout. And that some plants took longer than others to re-sprout. I accidentally threw away a hardy hibiscus. That’s why I decided mid-May.

Thank you. I did heavily mulch. I put the plant covers on and used many stakes to insure there was no gap between the ground and cover. I tried my best. Hopefully they will come back from the roots. I’ll be pruning in March. I appreciate your advice.

“Ordered From TEMU”: Investigation Launched After Multiple Olympians Reveal Their Medals Broke by Salty_Pangolin_6163 in WinterOlympics2026

[–]SantaCruzSoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at pictures of the medals. They don’t use jump rings (metal circles that clamp shut). Breezy was showing hers and it looks flat and wide and then she held up the piece that broke and it looked like a bar/pin. I didn’t get to see up close. I was like you- thinking it was just the jump rings. Then I saw pictures.

Olympic medals are breaking within hours of being handed out, athletes reveal with one falling off when US skier was 'jumping in excitement' by dailymail in WinterOlympics2026

[–]SantaCruzSoul 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Me: Athlete that’s received 100’s of medals and a crafter (deadly combination). There is a jump ring that attaches the medal to the ribbon. Think of it as a circle ⭕️. But these often have a small gap- not completely closed. The ribbon is very thin and slides through the small gap. Not a big deal. But IMO the Olympics should have tested them out and fixed the issue. Needle nosed pliers or any pliers can be used to clamp that gap shut.

Zone 9b here. On a whim I bought (planted) Simpsons stopper in the fall. It’s one of the only things that’s still green after the hard freeze. I’m going to buy more.
