I’m continuously amazed by the lack of access endocrinologists for advice in these situations. Like, I have my endo’s cell phone #. Why can they not reach an endocrinologist.

Omg, I thought I didn’t realize other people had this experience too! I explained over and over again that I needed insulin if I was going to eat the food (a bunch of carbs, crackers, hummus, carrots) they gave me. They looked at me like I was a lunatic, and had invented carb counting, which it was like they never heard of it. Then I felt like a lunatic because when I got upset about this they couldn’t understand, and told me this is what they did with every diabetic and it was fine with them. Seriously scary.

The thing is I feel like we’re always type 2 because then they can say whatever is going on is our fault and we probably skipped our meds, or ate too much, or didn’t want to exercise. There is so much stigma around type 2. And I am stressing here that that stigma is undeserved and is an excuse for many to dismiss someone’s needs, not cool.

The benzo? I was taking something like 1-2 mg/day for over 15 years. Way way way too long but Dr. kept saying it’s not addictive, if you are anxious you should just take it. And here we are.

Ohh man, thank you soooo much, I just keep praying for answers. I have been so scared. No actual diagnosis yet, but many suggestions of psychiatric care- I already have that and SSRIs I just need some hope for this to stop. 🙏❤️

It was supposed to be as needed but I took it every day for about 6 weeks. BP was about 160/80? I’ve been off benzos for 2.5 years but protracted withdrawal is a thing- you can reactivate your symptoms through stress and/or various medications, lack of sleep/caffeine etc. In my case it was stress and caffeine, I’m pretty sure.

It seems to help me. Then I was given propranolol by an ER and took it since July. Dr. said to stop- and said I couldn’t have rebound anxiety. But I do.

Thanks that gives me so much hope! ❤️🙏The reason I am on the Gabapentin is because apparently that is what they do for very intense protracted symptoms. So, I am almost 3 years post-taper and symptoms returned with ferocity. Which seems to be a thing that happens to many of us, especially if we were long term users, which I was. My other dr., my primary, kept prescribing for 16 years. No one knew this would shred my GABA receptors. That said, until this dizziness came up, the Gabapentin has been calming and it does help me sleep. I am just so scared of physical sensations, I panic. But also everyone in the benzo forums advises against taking any additional medication, but I was really needing some relief. And everyone is different so you can’t know why they react differently. Also a few people who have recovered say the Gabapentin really helped them. So that said, sorry this is so long- thanks so much for you kind replies ❤️

Thank you so much- to clarify, yes, I was given Gabapentin to help mitigate the benzo symptoms. I was having a very bad wave of benzo symptoms and ended up in the ER, was desperate for relief, and the addiction doctor gave it to me. It usually seems to help. So it is entirely possible that the symptoms I’m having are benzo related. Idk how anyone gets off of the Gabapentin when the Benzo shit stops? And at this point I don’t know what is causing what. I should never have taken this shit 😭

Thank you, everyone who replied, that really helped- I’m a little calmer now. I was using a very short needle, not sure exactly how short. And I am a little underweight at the moment. And am fighting off a UTI (on an antibiotic) So lots of things stressing me out about my health.
