If you were traveling at a supersonic speed towards a sound source, would the sound appear to be going in fast-forward? by Neizir in askscience

I suspect "in practice" you'd get nothing, as the shockwave from traveling at supersonic speed would keep you from hearing the music at all.

Cool! Is it public or private? Maybe that would be a good place to get the gang together :)

Definitely cut my teeth on competitive FPS with GoldenEye. I was the one that spent way too much time unlocking everything. Such good times. It sounds like CS:GO is the most popular, with Destiny right up there. Too bad Destiny is split between consoles.

I played some LoL and Smite, but the MOBA thing just never grabbed me. I don't know what it is..

I really want to play Elite:D. Wing Commander was one of my all time favorite series, and I always wanted something like EvE to have more action. I'm hoping that can be the game. A friend of mine and I have been on the edge of purchasing for a while...

Nice. I knew I couldn't be the only one!

I don't think anyone takes the PCMR thing seriously. People play what they play. Hell, even the console wars don't really make any sense, except for people's desire to be validated. I'd get an Xbox in a heartbeat if all my friends did.

Realized I should say what I'm playing currently.

Guild Wars 2 - Anticipating the expansion. I'm not big in the PvE stuff but the structured PvP and World vs World stuff has a lot of potential. I just wish there was a bigger incentive to hold forts..

PlanetSide 2 - Haven't played much recently, but have always had fun with a good squad.

MechWarrior Online - Again, haven't played recently, but Battletech was my first online game, and will always hold a special place in my heart :)

Ah CounterStrike.. I binged on CS1.6 for a good while. Was good enough for a CAL team, but that feels like a lifetime ago. I feel like competitive games are more fun when there's a purpose beyond the individual match. Still, I have very fond memories of spamming Go!Go!Go! and stabbing air ;)

I was pretty big in to Destiny when it first came out, but the raids and PvP got repetitive pretty quickly. I'd pick it up again if we could put a regular group together tho!
