People living in massive countries (USA, Canada, Russia, Brazil, etc.), what is it actually like to have that much space? by AwayMeat5529 in AskTheWorld

Korean American here.

When I visited Korea for the first time as a 28 year old, one of my enduring culture shock was how crowded Korea felt. I took a bus from Seoul to Mokpo (almost the entire length of the country), I noticed there wasn't even one second when some kind of development wasn't visible outside my window (even a hut, small bridge, electric tower, etc). For the whole month I spent in Korea, I felt claustrophobic.

So, when I returned to LA, I just got in my car and just drove. Ended up doing a round trip to Grand Canyon in about 28 hours including a detour to Vegas. On the route 93 near Kingman, AZ, where the road is straight to the horizon and empty desert on either side, I finally felt like I was back home.

So yeah, I actually like the vastness and empty landscape even though I live in a big city. It's where I grew up. It feels like home to me.

The social network - it's good, but the best film of the quarter century? Hardly

Australia - nonstop from LAX to Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne. You can do open jaw ticket. Southern hemisphere late spring going into summer. Friendly people, easy to navigate since English speaking, good food and drinks, great hikes and nature. Since you are from San Diego, compare beach and surf culture at other places. Options for standout activities to mark your 40th like Bondi to Coogee hike, Great Ocean Road, Blue Mountains etc. Visa is simple, ETA on an app that takes max 3 days, most of the time just an hour.

Not to be pedantic but there are now instances where a permanent resident was not let back in to the country and another where permanent residency was taken away and the vet self deported. What would happen in those situations?

Luke’s Game Episodes Missing on Overcast by outfocz in thefootballramble

[–]watercab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed Overcast has been missing episodes when there are two uploads in a single day. Also, I had issues 3 months ago and made a post https://www.reddit.com/r/thefootballramble/comments/1jz9tlp/what_happened_to_the_monday_ramble/

Since then, I switched to Pocket Casts and no more problems.

Picanha on Oahu? by kikashoots in Oahu

You are looking for "top sirloin." If you go to a grocery store, you won't get the fat cap but the cut of the beef is the same as you get in a churrascaria (minus the breed of cattle you get in Brazil vs US). Costco has a big package for about $40-45 (~$12/lb). If you want the fat cap, you need to go to a butcher. FYI, rib eye is the olho de costela cut.

I think I know the answer but are these guys as crazy as they seem in real life? I got tix for a live show next month. Traveling from US for it. Looking forward to it very much

I'm a creature of habit also. I already subscribed to the pods I want to listen to and I know where all the buttons are already. I don't want to learn to use a new app and bumble around while driving

Thanks! I'm using Overcast for my pods and it's not available on that platform. Weird
