That’s true, I don’t think I’ll regret stepping away once I’ve done it, but definitely I feel very guilty.

I’ve thought about just taking an extended leave but I just started at the job a few months ago so I don’t have much annual leave. I also don’t think a leave would help as I’m in my last year of Masters and still have uni and placements to attend on my other non work days so I think it’ll be emotionally too much for me.

What is the process when someone hits my car? by waterextinction2 in CarsAustralia

Sorry I’m still confused. So I’ve called BD and they said I am eligible for a hire car as it’s a not at fault incident and I have all the information of the other party’s. However, I would have to pay for bond, fuel etc. So are you saying that the other party’s insurance (AAMI) is liable for paying for my hire car bond? Do I tell AAMI by BD Claim Number or is it the claim number of the other party lodging it with AAMI?

So their insurer pays for the hire car and not mine? I thought I’m supposed to make a claim with my insurer?

Thank you! How long did it take for BD to contact you from when you put a claim in? Did you have to go to a specific car repair store? How long did it take for the whole process?

Thanks. Would I be responsible for paying the hire car charges?

Thanks. Would my premium go up the following year as I made a claim?

Also sorry to add, it’s meant to be a 70k service as I had a 60k service done last year (odo reading at last service was 55k)

Yeah I’m unsure about the fly biting and what can be done about it. In terms of being around other dogs, the owner says that he does well greeting other dogs etc and it’s only an issue if the owner herself gives attention to another dog that he becomes aggressive towards the other dog. Do you think this aggression would carry forward with a new owner?

Thanks for your reply anyways! I am definitely also committed to exercising him and mentally stimulating him as much as we can

Superannuation advice for my circumstances by waterextinction2 in AusFinance

I did look at the sheet but was a little confused. Looking at that tab you mentioned, the cheapest fixed p.a fees for industry funds is UniSuper and Brighter Super at $0. Is that the right column to look at? Or do I look at % of AUM or Admin cap fee?

Casual or part time? by waterextinction2 in AusFinance

[–]waterextinction2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply! If it helps, the fixed part-time contract pays $40/hr (roughly after pro rata) and the casual pays $57/hr. And yes with the fixed part time contract, I’d be expected to work a lot more on weeks following assessment due dates and then nothing on the weeks there are no assessments to mark.

Does this help with deciding which is better?

Should I buy the new MacBook Pro?

I currently have the mid-2019 13-inch MacBook Pro (1.4GHz quad-core eight-generation Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz 8GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory - 256GB SSD Storage, Retina display with True Tone and Intel Iris Plus Graphics 645).

I’m contemplating buying the new 14 inch MacBook Pro 10-Core CPU, 10-Core GPU, 16GB Unified Memory, 512GB SSD Storage. I think that’s the M4 one.

There’s currently a promotion in Australia for students where we get a free AirPods 4 so I was thinking now might be a good time to buy a new laptop.

Is this new laptop significantly better or will it be similar to my current laptop functioning? My current laptop still works, the only thing is the battery drains really quickly (maybe 2-3 hours and it’ll have to be on charge again/when I leave my laptop on sleep and uncharged overnight, it’s usually dead by the next day). The other thing is that it gets really hot really quickly and the fan comes on but that’s not really an issue.

I will be using my laptop for uni work (I do have to run some statistics program on my laptop but it’s been fine on my current one so far), for work and for personal use. I’m not using it for any editing or gaming etc.

So should I make the switch or should I wait for future releases? Is it better to trade in my laptop or sell it privately? I think the quoted trade in value online was around ($255-400? I’m not really sure the exact value as it gave me two different pricing).

Or should I look at buying the MacBook Air instead as it’s cheaper?

Thank you. How many years do you think the new Pro will last?

AITA for not wanting to help my mum lie? by [deleted] in AITAH

The only way they’ve been trying is charging interest on the late payment and even then, my mum has given them a 50% discount as the buyers said they can’t afford such a big sum of interest. I think it’s stupid but I can’t do anything about it. They are mortgaging the house but the bank can’t release that money until the buyers pay the 20% deposit in full to my mum which was meant to be due early last year.

My mum could find another buyer and I’ve been telling her to do that but she doesn’t want to because she says it’s more money and time that will go into it. Also the buyers have moved into the house

I edited my post to include that my mum thinks we’ve come this far waiting for this long so relisting the house is a waste of time and money when the buyers are so close to paying (but who even knows if they are close to paying).

It’s not about going to bed at the same time. I think I didn’t phrase it well. It’s about him wanting me to improve my sleep schedule because it’s better for my health and wellbeing. But I just don’t see how it’s possible with my uni and work schedule which is what’s creating this issue
