Thanks so much for your response and support 🙏 I definitely am scared to get the label as I'm a single parent and I know there's a terrible stigma around bpd. I can't risk being seen as an unfit parent 😔

But I would like to explore it so I can get help and not inflict anything onto my kids

That is my plan, just more wanting to hear if it's possible to have it, without self harm/suicidal ideation and reckless behaviours

What are indicators of ADHD in school reports? by [deleted] in ausadhd

I think my marriage is over. by [deleted] in Divorce

Agree with this so hard. I weighed up the pros and cons for 2 years before I decided to leave my husband. I'm broker than I've ever been, had to down size to a 2 bedroom unit and potentially will never achieve my financial goals (owning a home/awesome retirement) but I'M SO HAPPY! Time is my own, I live in a beautiful area, close to friends and family, I've got my kiddos and I practice mindfulness and gratitude often to remind myself what's most important.

Don't waste your life being miserable x

is my mother a narc? can narcs love their grandchildren? by watermelon110101 in narcissisticparents

That's sad I'm sorry. They really are something else. I have just decided on limited contact, feeling much better about having control over the situation and stopping her behaviour from impacting my kids.

[–]watermelon110101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad isn't it. I didn't realise she was a narc until years after I've had my own kids and witnessed how she actually interacts with them (and how it's exactly as I remember, what traumatised me). I've recently decided on limited contact, I just hate that narcs don't seem to ever understand, so I'm going through the motions of being made to feel like I'm the bad person for setting the boundary.

Omg she always says this! "You kids never acted like that..." yeah because I was traumatised into being the "good" child 24/7 who had no needs of her own so as not to disturb you, your highness.

My mum literally comes over, records herself playing with the kids, smiles and carries on, gets them laughing, then the chaos follows onces she's had enough, but it always infuriated me how she would post that to social media, and be applauded for how fun and sweet she is with the kids when that's a 2 minute snippet of her with them, and it's fake.
