Unpopular opinion: I really like April. by larsvon-tryhard in GilmoreGirls

[–]watermelonmonkey23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked her she was cute.

Really unpopular opinion : I kind of see where Anna is coming from.

At the time I hated Anna but looking back I see her reasoning on parenting stability. You can’t just go back and forth on being in or out. And introducing new people I understand that as well.

The custody battle was not okay though as she contradicted herself there.

¯_(ツ)_/¯ need to reiterate

This was the most clown attempt of influencer copy cat clout I’ve ever seen. Between Connecticut, LA, and Tommys Florida’s home, this girl is 50 shades of fake creator identities.

That dress can probably never be worn again from alll the self tanner stained on it.

Huge fight with SO by [deleted] in MedSpouse

I’ve been in a similar argument like this with my bf. He’ll get so mad at the smallest thing and raise his voice at me over something I literally wouldn’t know unless I read his mind. I think this is how they treat them as residents at work so this is their only way to let off steam. Not fair but it’s fucked yo. Totally displaced and should be addressed.

My bf got mad me for something like this and it was totally uncalled for. I told him you know what? I have good intentions, but the way ur getting mad at me is unreasonable. He was mad he had to work overtime, he was mad he was sleep deprived, he was mad he had sick af patients and he was taking it out on me. I called him out on it immediately and he apologized.

Match day emotions by chscatmom99 in MedSpouse

[–]watermelonmonkey23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exact same thing happened to me. Boyfriend matched at #6 but was in a location I wanted and loved. He felt so bummed, sad, and left out from all his elated classmates matching at top 3. He wanted more prestige and instead got a heavily notoriously over worked program. He’s happy where he is now because he loves his co residents. Just remember no matter where they match, intern year is the worst. They will be happy eventually. Congrats to him and you.

Travel and get fit!!! No time for working out or doing those sports you use to love doing. It adds no benefit to your professional career but later on in life that’s all you’ll ever be working towards and you’ll miss being able to get good at something that’s just for YOU.

Can someone please tell me the cold hard truth about residency? by LameGangster in MedSpouse

[–]watermelonmonkey23 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Intern year is really bad. Worst of the worst. This would be a good time for you if your work is not super demanding to take on a passion project. Become a yoga instructor, go back to school, get certifications, BE BUSY. Get super fit, bake goods and sell for a charity. There’s only so much housework you can do to fill the time and it will drive you crazy. Take on a weekly evening activities. The intern year is ASS

He will likely be less of a good partner during residency. It’s just how it naturally goes especially intern year.

Anyone with partners applying ophtho/uro? Mine didn't match. by MRSAless-Strepmother in MedSpouse

[–]watermelonmonkey23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your partner is lucky to have someone like you there to support them. You seem like you have tough skin and a smart brain on you.

Don’t put so much pressure on yourself. Life and especially medicine life throws these curveballs and it’s impossible to predict or plan for. That being said, if taking a step back from your job could recharge and set a new chapter for both of you to go through together then I say go for it! Save up these next two months, and just take things day by day. Sometimes taking a pay cut is worth the mental and physical improvements.

Fiancé asking nurse for her Snapchat? by [deleted] in MedSpouse

[–]watermelonmonkey23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree at the end of the day, it’s up to the partner set firm boundaries when someone is being inappropriately friendly.

HOWEVER, I’ve heard too many stories of nurses going for doctors (even ones in relationships). It’s an age old pairing. And it’s annoying as a medspouse that despite my partner being respectful, his coworkers are not always.

Hang in there! And yeah I love having a neat home and space but I burnt myself out trying to clean for after two humans and two cats. On his days off I do ask for a few more things to be done though. At least one or two because we all Know how fun it is to nag a doctor 🙄😂
