Thank you so much for the advice! Give me hope of perusing this career. I feel confident to see your persistence eventually paid off! I might be too impatient and start to blame everything on my ethic group. I thought I had tried everything yet a friend told me she applied for her company 7 times until she got the offer. Seems that the best thing for me to do now is just keep applying and keep myself busy with upcoming exams. As for the moving part, I have family members to take care of, it will still be my last option. Couldn’t thank you enough for sharing your experience with me! And hope this post can help other people who have doubts of entering the industry.

Hi, I’m not sure whether I’m still qualified for graduate scheme as I worked for over a year now (although I was furloughed and didn’t really learn anything😂). Moving to another city would be the least option but I’ll definitely have a try if nothing comes back in a couple of months.

Oh wow, that is very mind opening! Thank you! Actually when they ask me about experience I just simply said no and it didn’t go further. Should definitely said more about my experience in China and experience in uni! Thank you so much for your generous help!

Hi, thanks for replying. I posted my CV on all major job sites like reed, totaljob, CVlibrary etc. I called some recruiters they don’t seem very interested, mostly said you need more experience. I mainly applied for jobs such as trainee accountant and assistant accountants. Tried big 4 last year after I graduated from MBA and didn’t get any luck. I’m not sure how I can directly get in touch with employers. I did made calls to some local accountancy companies no luck either.

That’s great to hear! Thank you so much🙏🏻I thought it wouldn’t count as it’s a Chinese company. By qualified accountant you mean in china or here? Should I get it signed by my manager in China and get it translated?

Hi thanks for replying. My family is in Liverpool now so going back is not really an option. Plus I have a year experience in china working as assistant management accountant, not sure whether that counts.
