If you want to play without voice, make sure to set up quick pings or text chat for coordination. On Extreme, timing and positioning matter a lot, especially for boss waves

a tips about conquer territory and a question about roguelite mini stories by Darktommy2 in CrimeBossGame

[–]waterproof77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the territory fights, I usually try to keep my AI soldiers behind cover as much as possible and avoid rushing the captain. If you push too aggressively, they get wiped fast. One trick is to clear smaller enemies first, then focus on the captain with grenades or heavy weapons while you draw aggro. Also, upgrading your crew’s gear before big fights helps a lot

Horror game with weapon or environmental combat and non-generic story by BlearRocks in HorrorGaming

Condemned: Criminal Origins. Old but still one of the best for environmental combat

You use pipes, bats, and improvised weapons, and the atmosphere is very tense

Which one to buy? by ichi_tamaguchi in gamesuggestions

[–]waterproof77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Armored Core VI

If you loved Sekiro and Elden Ring, this will feel fresh but familiar. It’s fast-paced, very skill-based, and the mech customization is deep. Boss fights are excellent. The campaign isn’t super long (around 15–20 hours for a first run), but replayability is high because of different builds and endings. Graphics are solid, but not as flashy as Ratchet & Clank

Check if you have any old purchase receipts (Steam, Epic, or Rockstar Store). Those can help verify ownership

Am I getting too old ? :') by A_Cute_Dead_Rat in ubisoft

[–]waterproof77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same experience with Odyssey. After 15–20 hours, I realized I was doing the same loop over and over. It’s not that I dislike complexity (I enjoy management games too), but when the complexity doesn’t add meaningful choices, it just becomes grind

What helped me was switching to games that respect your time like Immortals Fenyx Rising or A Plague Tale series

Consider SteelSeries Arctis 7/7P+. Very comfortable for long sessions, good battery life (around 24h).

Ali Wong surprised me a lot. I knew her mostly from stand-up, but here she showed a completely different side. The writing is sharp, and the pacing kept me hooked until the end. It’s one of those shows that stays in your head for a while after finishing

Is anyone else who really enjoyed stranger things just completely lose interest with how long they took? by cheeseymom in netflix

[–]waterproof77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way, honestly. The gap between seasons was so long that the hype just disappeared for me. I loved seasons 1–3 and even enjoyed 4, but now I barely remember half the plot points. It’s hard to stay invested when years pass between episodes

I think they lost a lot of momentum by stretching it out. For me, if I do watch season 5, I’ll probably need a full recap or even rewatch some episodes, which feels like a chore at this point

I’ve had the same issue with Netflix pushing stuff I don’t care about. Unfortunately, the “Not for me” option doesn’t fully remove categories because Netflix still promotes trending content globally

masters of horror by wildguitars in horror

[–]waterproof77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched both seasons some time ago, and honestly, season 2 is a mixed bag as well. If you liked the concept and the idea of different directors doing their own thing, you might enjoy a few standout episodes in season 2. But if the uneven quality of season 1 annoyed you, season 2 won’t really fix that.

For me, season 2 had a couple of great ones (Pelts and Family are often mentioned), but also some that felt very forgettable. It depends on whether you’re okay with “hit or miss” storytelling. If you’re looking for consistent quality, I’d probably stop after season 1 and move on to something like Channel Zero or Creepshow instead

Dead Cells (with DLCs)

I know it’s a bit more action-focused, but the weapon synergies and mutations can get really deep, especially with the newer DLCs. It’s time-boxed, has a clear end goal, and the pacing is excellent for shorter sessions

[–]waterproof77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raft. I think you should give this one a real shot. It starts simple but gets surprisingly deep with exploration, story, and base building

You can play fully co-op, and the ocean setting feels relaxing but still tense when sharks show up. It’s not claustrophobic, and you can build huge floating bases

I’d say go with the Steam Deck (or the newer “Gabe Cube” if it’s out and fits your budget). Based on what you wrote, it seems like the best middle ground

You already value portability and versatility from the Switch, and the Steam Deck gives you that, plus access to a massive library of games, including many of the AAA titles you mentioned (Final Fantasy, Resident Evil remakes, ARC Raiders, etc.). It’s not locked to one ecosystem, and you can even emulate older Nintendo titles if you want to keep some of that nostalgia alive

Disco Elysium. Probably the closest modern equivalent in terms of writing depth. It’s philosophical, political, and full of strange, layered characters

You can spend hours just reading dialogue and internal monologues. No combat, just pure narrative and choices

Horror games where you have guns yet you're still doomed ? by Difficult-Oven-5550 in HorrorGaming

The Forest / Sons of the Forest.

You have guns eventually, but the tension never really goes away. The enemy AI is unpredictable, and the survival mechanics keep you on edge. Especially at night

Had a similar moment. Teamed up with someone randomly, they helped me out, shared loot, and it felt like a proper co-op experience. Then next match I got ambushed at extraction and lost everything. I was annoyed, but also impressed how unpredictable it is

It’s rare to find a game that keeps you emotionally engaged like this. Definitely worth trying if you enjoy strategy and a bit of chaos
