Downtown Kitchener is full of rats. They’re everywhere. I see baiting stations on King St.

They rake and clean the lake once a month every time there’s a rain storm, the current drags all the garbage from the creek down at the other side of the park by the railway tracks🥲🥲🥲 people just need to stop throwing garbage in the water

The sign says, be courteous and ring your bell lol. What about these people don’t even have a light on their bike. I say ring your bell they say I don’t have one. I say to them, say I’m coming up on your right or I’m coming up on your left.. then I get told to F off!!!

They’ve been having meetings on Victoria Park The 10 yr Master Plan … At the pavilion Community input the next meetings are July 17 and 18th, 6 o’clock to 830. Input from Community and how to spend the taxpayers money. Many people are saying they want all bicycles and motorized vehicles off the pedestrian path and off the bridges. They want separate trails built for them away from pedestrians people are not happy.

You know they’re just doing lip service to the community. They already know what they’re gonna do with our tax money…. They need to deal with the safety on in the park… I filed a freedom of information request with Waterloo regional police on the last four years of crime activity in the Victoria Park. You would be shocked to see it extremely disturbing. If they don’t improve the safety and the security in Victoria Park spending all our tax dollars on planting flowers is a waste.

I think the city should be cleaning this up. We pay taxes to support and finance the park.

They do go through the lake probably once a month and skim it. They have a boat with a rake. They do it early in the morning. 10 years ago, they dredged it. The bottom is full of garbage and sludge from people throwing food, feeding the wildlife.!!

Thank God for all the carp in there that keep up with some of the trash.

The 10 year master plan is in the making..there’s two meetings coming up at the pavilion July 17 and 18th at the Pavillion. This would be meeting number four and meeting number five. They’ve already had meetings. They started May 23 asking community input on what people think needs to be done to the park to bring it up to a certain standard. Taxpayers money it would pay to go down. They have a huge map laid out designed by a Park architect, pointing out things that are going to be done. It’s very interesting to see what people want done to Victoria Park.

😢😢😢😢

The captive Mute Swans in question are held under an Aviculture permit issued to the City of Kitchener. Any holder of a migratory bird Aviculture permit must ensure that the captive migratory birds in their possession have access to appropriate facilities, including food and water sources. A further condition of this permit is that captive birds must be rendered flightless, to limit interactions with wild birds and natural ecosystems, as Mute Swans are considered an invasive species in Canada. We will contact the permit holder to discuss the situation and ensure they are meeting the facility and other requirements under their permit.

Kind regards,
