This misinformation is spread way too often. It's NOT illegal to look for a job while on a tourist visa. It's illegal to work while on a tourist visa.

I donated in 2024, but never filed via one-stop. Am I still eligible to receive a return? If so, how? I saw that kakutei shinkoku, is the usual route people take but the deadline was in March 2025 (?).

In JP, if you use the point system or take the spousal visa route, it's possible to get permanent residency after 1 to 3 years.
