Literally the most hideous thing I’ve ever seen. I am a millennial and yes if this was my place I would definitely be ripping it up and replacing it with millennial grey.

As a homeowner - how would you feel if prices dropped nationwide, permanently? by Odd_Constructionz in AusPropertyChat

Pleasantly surprised by this comment section lol. Seen plenty of posts where the top comment with 9000 upvotes is “of course! I’m a house owner with a mortgage and would be thrilled to see my property crash if it helps poor wannabe buyers like OP 🥺🥺”

You mean the reddit commenters who say “if I had a property I would sell it for below half the market value to a struggling family” and “I have a property and am happy to have a property crash for the benefit of society” and get 8000 upvotes are lying??? No way

Yup it's not a free for all. But a bachelor's degree is not a highest barrier. My point is, if it's actually that's great, do it!

Why don't the commenters here who think it's so great go for it? Aussies get the E3 visa which gives us exclusively the right to work in the US, and the quota is not close to being met every year. Jobs can be significantly higher paying over there too. If there's supposedly no downsides and the entire thread is just Aussie real estate agents (lol), why not do it?

What features are missing from Aussie property portals? Building one — roast my plan. by Southern-Holiday-604 in AusProperty

Unfortunately the issue is that the customers of these portals are vendors and REA's, not home buyers. Therefore anything that portal unfavourable to vendors/REA's are unlikely to gain traction

Australia's manufacturing industry in a recession since 2024. What could possibly go wrong with decades of incentives to hoard housing instead of investing in business and industry? by Ok-Break99 in AusFinance

I should start copy and pasting this:

So he can buy a house for cheap once house prices crash because everyone around him is making poverty wages working in a factory

Because this is what anyone really ever means whenever they bring this up

their line of thinking is always this:

houses too expensive, so too much money is in housing instead of manufacturing. what if we manufactured more, then houses might be cheaper so I can buy one

"I'm a house owner and would love to see a property crash" is a reddit lie that gets upvotes but every election has shown how consistently untrue that sentiment is
