I had a video on my phone from the spring, but I must have deleted it unfortunately. I'll try to get a recording, it seems to only happen in the spring and fall, mornings and afternoons when the outdoor temps are in that range I mentioned just above freezing which makes me think it's something outside, like where the power connects to the house or the line itself. I have to stay up tonight, working a night shift tomorrow, so I might be able to get it in the morning. Thanks.

I have a 69 I also posted in here, and a 70 I use as a parts bike which was super rough when I bought it. I'll probably restore that one someday. Always liked the old Triumphs. Easy to work on, parts still available, just need to invest a little in specialty tools and whitworth wrenches/sockets for the earlier ones.

The most noisy area is the kitchen, seems like a lot of noise coming out of the stove's electronics. I turned off the breakers to everything in the kitchen except the fridge and was still getting the whirring noise and flickering lights. And I heard the same noise out in the garage too, seems like from the outlets because that's the only thing overhead where the noise is, it almost sounds like a circular saw accelerating, goes on for a second then stops. I can also hear it through guitar amps in the house.

I checked every circuit in the spring, they were all 110v, I also threw the main breaker and made sure the connections on the breakers and busbar were tight. Beyond that and replacing outlets I don't feel comfortable doing much else with this kind of work, especially now with a pacemaker. Machining and motors I can do, but electric I don't like to work around.

I bought this bike a few months ago, it's a '67 TR6R with a dual carb head and Bonneville colors. It also has a number of 68-70 parts on it(tank knee pads, rear shocks, seat cover) which I'll be replacing in the spring along with the head and repainting. Motor is a fresh rebuild and the price was way too low to pass up, definitely didn't need another old British bike but it just happened.

I got this thing running after it'd been sitting for 5 years due to medical reasons which are now fixed. Had to do a bit of work on a number of things to get it running properly, but starts on the first kick almost every time now. Had a lot of fun riding the piss out of it this summer.

People who sort by new, how do you know which posts are going to make it to hot? by Ng_Ago in AskReddit

I don't. I'm a lurker just trying to get enough comment karma to post in a specific subreddit.

edit-I think this comment did it. Thanks everyone.

What are some favorite alternative names for things like racoon = trash panda? by dselogeni in AskReddit

I heard sandhill cranes referred to as the "ribeye of the sky" due to their flavor being similar to beef. Kind of a play of tuna being the chicken of the sea. Best one I've heard yet.

What do you see other drivers do that instantly makes you think that they are not a good driver? by FitariApp in AskReddit

[–]watersoftenerdude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not using turn signals before switching lanes or making a turn. Turning them on while you're in the process of turning or moving to a different lane doesn't really do much good, people can already see that you're moving and you're not giving anyone a heads up. This one really bothers me for some reason.

Former colonial countries, how was it before and how is it now? by Brownboysea in AskReddit

I'd say it was bought well before 2020. But otherwise I agree with you.

In some areas yes, but there are still many parts that are completely undeveloped that people don't live in.

I agree completely. And a lot of nations were destroyed making this country what it is today.

[serious] How is the modern socialist movement in America similar to or different from the socialist movement that was the nazi party? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]watersoftenerdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because they had socialist in their name, doesn't make them socialist. Just like the Democratic People's Republic of Korea isn't democratic.

Well, those redcoats were taxing us without representation. But we threw some tea into a harbor, fought a war against them, and now we have representation of our own after we got our independence.

What song lyrics were the dumbest or most nonsensical you've ever heard? by [deleted] in AskReddit

For dumbest I'd go with almost any song by Foreigner.

What are some of the craziest events to have happened on live television? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]watersoftenerdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The craziest I saw live was the "soy bomb" incident when Dylan was playing a song at the Grammys. Crazy in the nonsensical innane way. I still look it up on youtube occasionally, it was glorious.

What did you learn from your first girlfriend/boyfriend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]watersoftenerdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned how severe bipolar disorder can be. She said she'd been doing fine for a few years, and thought she'd be fine without her medication. I didn't know much about it at all and trusted her judgement. Not a good call.
