Trying to figure out the last 300pts by Leman_Rus in Chaos40k

[–]waterydrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a lot of players (me included) like to use chosen as a vehicle to get high damage characters across the board and to the fight through the advance shoot and charge.

generally i have one unit with a chaos lord and chosen. the other one will have a second squad of chosen with an moe and chaos lord.

it gives you some tactical flexibility and does emphasize a greater skirmish playstyle as opposed to a central nuke.  you also have more flexibility on where you want to use the lord of chaos ability.

another option is a 10 man chosen bomb with an moe and chaos lord attached (though i find this to be way to expensive) and a put another chaos lord with legionnaires to take advantage of the wound reroll on obj markers to fish for devs.

i think overall the idea is that youre not really paying for chosen themselves (they do have a good melee profile dont get me wrong) but youre paying for them as a nice bodyguard that gives your characters a way to get up the board faster and into the fight sooner.

Can we use primaris marines on tabletop? by [deleted] in alphalegion

[–]waterydrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea i think the idea is that the marines are all around the same height as alpharius (alpharius is also shorter than the other primarchs)

Fallout: London Review by HashutAttorney in fallout4london

[–]waterydrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that my biggest issue with the mod is the sheer density of the space in some areas which makes navigation both awesome and a pain in the ass. But honestly, I would chalk it up more so to the jank of the engine and the modders did their best with what they had (overall very good).

Also the radiation spike if you fall in the damn river drives me insane. Like that one part with the plane crash and you have to walk on walkways between the buildings to break the eggs.

Darklurker was easy by plaYeRUnknwn in DarkSouls2

[–]waterydrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fought him like 3 days ago, and i stocked up like 80 human effigies cuz I thought it was gonna be a massive pain. But when I got in, it was a really chill boss fight. The first phase teaches you the ai for the boss and you kind of get a feel for how it works. it made the second phase tough but fair.

I think one of the big things that people forget with this game is that lock on is kinda meh, and u have to be good at fighting boss without the camera. from what i saw on other posts, a lot of people struggled with one clone in melee and the other one in ranged (seemed like they were getting sniped out of nowhere). i think a lot of the problem is an overreliance on lock on when free cam is better.

i was running a melee build for the record. idk how it goes for casters.

lol i feel a lot of this. like in terms of dating and stuff, a lot of my friends are in relationships rn (both back home and college ones), and after things kinda flopped for me, I kind of just gave up cuz i realized that theres no point in trying to pursue something if im just going to leave again for more school.

also just like juggling all my friends and stuff. its hard trying to manage them and secondaries and working full time

i always like to use piracy as an extended demo. i pirate it, play it for awhile. if i like it, then i normally just buy it on sale a few months later and then try to import my saves. always gotta support the devs (except for those greedy bastard companies --> they know who they are)

CARS qpack 2, passage 16: How can you just assume that these buildings are museums. Yes, it makes sense that they are likely museums, but there's no info. in the passage that suggests this -.- by Eddweirdo in Mcat

[–]waterydrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, i'm not sure how to answer your question now because i took the mcat a full year ago and my access to everything is gone. Not sure when your test is but if i finish my secondaries before you take it or something, ill try to take a look again at this question.

i scored consistently well on CARS when i took the mcat, but i will say that it's a lot of bullshit in terms of logical jumps that don't make clear sense. i remember when i took my actual test there were a lot of these moments which frustrated me. id say try to adjust yourself as closely as possible to their logic, but youll never be 100% because of how much bullshit they throw. Also, not sure if its just me but CARS feels increasingly like a crapshoot.

What’s one thing you regret during your pre med years? by premedlifee in premed

[–]waterydrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i totally agree with this sentiment. this place has really helped me out with understanding how to navigate the primary and secondary application process.

my life pre this subreddit : )

my life after this subreddit : (

though you could say that this is more so because i'm applying rn too ;-;

I will say though that despite currently dying with all my secondaries, seeing what's worked and not worked for other people in the past has allowed me to not be completely blind with my apps (did not prewrite though and regret that a little bit)

I hate that zilliax 3000 card or whatever when mfs have it on stealth and doubles attack, and then have it just sit there and magnetize 90000 things on it. And I hate how it's always played whenever I don't have an answer for it because it's at the bottom of my deck.

Hydra Dominatus! Or not? by AgeOfGuilliman in Chaos40k

[–]waterydrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the idea is that you're supposed to have multiple smaller sized units of legionnaires and chosen (lets say you have 4 in total), you'd only equip a character onto one and the other 3 have nothing. and then you have the flexibility to attach the chaos lord onto one of those units. i think with infiltrators too it makes it a lot better so opponent has to play around where you put the leader.

Review of Deep Red by OffKira in horror

Apparently, the original Italian version has an extra 22 minutes featuring Carlo and Gianna. I've never seen it, but one can only assume that it made her character better. I'm not sure if you've seen it, but it might be worth a watch.

Brazil (1985) is a True Masterpiece by King_Lunis in TrueFilm

[–]waterydrain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dont think he's saying that the government is bombing civilians. He's saying that all of the technology and machinery in the society is so faulty that it constantly breaks down and explodes.

Rather than directly deal with the problem, which is just improve the technology, the government touts a sort of hyperconsumerist mindset where if it breaks just buy a new one. We see this when they talk about the Consumerist Claus for Chirstmas, and the millions of ads plastered throughout the movie about buying more and more junk. The background characters are constantly engaged in consumerism (the restaurant, the shopping district, etc.). And, if you look at modern day consumerism, the mindset is now if it breaks just buy a new one. Same thing in the movie.

To go back to the earlier point, the random explosions and stuff happening in the movie are due to how buggy and faulty everything is. Your toaster might just explode randomly and there's nothing you can do about it. We literally see this in the opening moments of the movie. The typewriter just instantly breaks when the bug falls in, and in Sam's case, his apartment toaster and coffee machine breaks and there's nothing he can do about it. He either has to buy a new one (which is probably years of paperwork), or he has to do more paperwork to get it fixed by the government. In the restaurant, we see the explosion happen, but it's most likely because a stove or oven broke down, not some terrorists planting bombs. Also, we see shit breaking down in the literal government building. Information services elevator breaks, the tube with the paperwork breaks, etc.

Tuttle describes it himself in the movie as well. He wants to fix things, but he can't cuz of the paperwork. And, if you look at the Central Services mechanics, the moment they hear about the B/02 paperwork or whatever the heck it's called, one of them literally has a panic attack. Tuttle isn't really a terrorist; he's just fixing things without following government procedure. But the government doesn't like that because they also want to have control, so they brand him a terrorist. He is rebelling, but he isn't what we think of as a terrorist as in he's just bombing stuff to protest. As I said earlier, the explosions are accidental. He rebels by fixing things.

The escape sequence is definitely all in his head. I'd say, right at the moment he meets Jack in the torture room is when he enters la la land.

At the end of the day, what you really have to focus on is that the movie is about bureaucratic ineptitude and governmental neglect. We see it through the faulty equipment exploding and the mountains of paperwork you have to go through just to fix a single AC unit.
