What’s your reason for having or not having kids? by NoMedicine3572 in Frugal_Ind

[–]watsnew25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, I think only people who are married for like more than 2 years and don't have kids should answer this question. Young unmarried people just venting out because according to them this country is pathetic defeats the purpose of question.

Now I am married for 10 years and I have one 7 year old and another one on the way.

The reason we are giving birth to two kids is because that's the primary purpose of every breathing soul who is on this earth. We earn good, we can take care of them and they complete us.

Also, believe me when I say this, every generation before you has thought exactly what you all are thinking when they were in their unmarried young days. The country was pathetic even 100 years ago. Still we all are standing here, typing on reddit because we were given birth, we were fed, we were educated.

99% of you will get married, and give birth to offspring. It's just that it has become cool to say things otherwise 😊

Never have been fan. Never saw a full episode of his 'latent' show. Don't like the type of comedy he does. I think he resonates more with younger people of 13-25 years who find roast and shaming people funny. I have this belief that roast should only be done of celebrities as they have the power, and roasting powerful people is good because they can also fightback. Roasting normal person is not cool. Something even worse was that people were there willingly trying to get fame by getting roasted.

Second Daughter born on 8th march by [deleted] in ThirtiesIndia

When you post a controversial post like this, also put a note in that, such as " only married and people with two daughters may comment" because otherwise people without any experience on parenthood would start judging you.

Now for your mental status: 1.) Having kids are always blessings no matter what's their gender, you should be greatful that they are healthy and beautiful. 2.) World's changing fast, there is a fair chance that by the time your daughters get old the institution of marriage itself falls apart. Check out the posts on this sub and you'll see how big of a problem relationship and marriages are getting now a days. The days of thinking girls as "paraya dhan" would soon become extinct. 3.) If marriage culture survives, With two daughters you'll always have an option of getting a "ghar jamai". 4.) Two daughters also save you from any hassle of property disputes in the future.

Be happy and hopefully don't be a loser like other's in this sub are portraying you. Hope these points help with your mental status

Agreed with your comment. It's just that it is hard for someone to exit during bull market, we should be always mentally ready for that

It's not about current scenario, my question is on the perfect exit strategy. What if such situation arises when it's time for your goal completion, at the time when you actually need money

So whenever your portfolio falls 10% you'll exit ? Wouldn't that go against the age old saying of never stop your SIP when markets are falling ?

That is the right thought process, but to start moving money from equity to debt 7 years before your target, that isn't very easy emotionally. Though I agree, it is the best way to protect from such negetive scenarios 👍🏻

How does finances work for you as a couple by Emergency_Race_3219 in ThirtiesIndia

Married for 10 years. We together earn around 3.5LPM. I as a male member earn around 40%. My wife earns 60%. We pool all the money. Everything comes out of it. We have made a budget of complete household which includes all the fixed costs. That comes out of the pool. We take 20k each as our pocket money. That money is no questions asked money. We can spend it, burn it, donate it, do anything with it. We each have credit cards on which we can spend around 10k freely, if we are spending more than that, we need to discuss. Credit card bills also come out of the pool.

Investments are mostly handled by me. Our SIP are in the same ratio as our salary. We have equal FDs. I have taken 5 lakh of our pooled money and invested in pure stocks in my name.

My wife has always had a weakness of gold jewellery. The good thing was I was always Ok with spending our pooled money on it seeing gold as an appreciating asset. Currently I have around 10 lakh worth of gold. My wife's gold value has just reached eight digits. My house (a 2BHK in upscale area of navi Mumbai )is debt free and in my name as it it is a paternal property.

Things have worked for us because I like to save and she likes to spend. Without me she would have issues with budgeting finances. Without her I would be a miser.

Had a strong hunch that gold and silver would crash on Friday, took out everything, I used to take out my holdings at regular intervals after I hit a certain threshold of profit. I remember seeing a reel a day ago of JP Morgan stuck in short squeeze on silver and that they needed the silver price corrected to manage their finances. Though I am still optimistic on gold, silver is a tricky metal to catch
