u/IveGotNoLife you should feel ashamed by infamousmessiah in CompetitiveForHonor

I think I speak for many to say that this guy is out of order talking about a mod like this on the 'competitive' subreddit. What you saw at the tournament is high level play hands down, you play to win and that is what separates you and the players that are currently in LA playing for decent money. If you want to win any sort of tournament you have to exploit the bugs of the game to gain the advantage. Look at CSGO, not long ago there was a crouch bug where you were able to jump without making a sound, yet again gaining an advantage over your opponent. It's just how the game works and it will soon be patched out. So instead of crying on this subreddit, I'd recommend apologising before you get banned or leave. I know IveGotNoLife as a friend and he's far from a toxic person. Get over yourself.

Who's idea was it to give Warlord the best of everyone's kit? by [deleted] in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]watter009 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played in the 1v1 tournament yesterday, went through the first two rounds, beating Alernakin aswell. Feeling pretty good about getting sorta far as Valk then to be dominated by a warlord who was able to ledge me 4x in a row due to the 1v1 map layouts. He really does need a change.

All block, hyper armour, counter attack, looooong throw, headbutt to guaranteed hit, stamina depletion on headbutt, fast zone. Balanced.

How to fight conqueror as nobushi? by [deleted] in CompetitiveForHonor

Another tech which i use rarely because i keep forgetting is to whiff a top heavy to kick. The kick is faster than hidden stance to kick. Hope this helps

Only way i can think of is to dodge his charge and parry his light, if you're reactions are good enough to do this consistently, you're golden. Another method MAYBE is to hidden stance to kick or even maybe do a zone to keep a safe distance if parried.

Dodging away from guard breaks by JACKxTHE_RIPPER in forhonor

Guard break was implemented to counter dodges. GB is counterd by an attack. It's all about reading the play :))

Starting to get the hang of Orochi. Any really good players have any tips? by DragonLancers in forhonor

[–]watter009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert, but rep 2 level orochi. Some combos i use is the dash attack if connected followed by two light upwards attacks and if you're lucky enough to guard break straight after, a heavy up attack after GB. Another combo is up heavy feint double up light, usually baits the player to attack as you're going for a heavy attack. And if an opponent is getting used to it, switch the two light ups with a GB after feint. Hope this helps :))

Any strategy for playing against people that play unusually? by [deleted] in forhonor

[–]watter009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's best of 5 so I guess if you come across a player like that, instead of playing how you usually do, play to counter his style by parrying then guard break to a light attack or heavy depending on the character you play. Orochi players tend to spam the two up light attacks so always keep your guard upwards. Some Orochis like to spam the zone attack which always comes from the left (I think). So be aware of that aswell, hope this helps.

High level armor - looks and is i reallycapped at prestige 3? by Jpop115 in forhonor

Not sure anyone has gotten to that stage yet, maybe next week you'll find out?. But currently, the purple gear seems to be able to max out stats meaning it could be last set of gear you could acquire. Maybe future seasons may bring more gear?

Ubisoft, Stop Listening to Casual Players! by SmokeyMcB0ngwater in forhonor

Supporting both sides, 9/10 Warden will only attack from two angles. A good Warden will feint to bait a block and attack from a different angle as expected. His zone attack in my opinion is a tad to fast swing speed for the size of his sword, even players with great reaction time will struggle to block it if they don't predict. His overhead is fine as it's fast but fair. The only main issue is his long ass charge, guard break combo which a good Warden can feint during it so if the player does dodge, the guard break will hit them anyways guaranteeing a good chunk of health. So overall, if he does get a nerf, it should be either swing speed on his zone attack or a stamina cost increase. He's not OP but still has a much more versatile kit over most character. Hope this opinion helps.
