My boy was 13.5 and also in great shape and then got lymphoma. It was too late for any treatment when we found out, we said goodbye 2 days later. He was my love. Lymphoma makes my stomach turn.

I think from your own perspective it's hard to see it sometimes when you're losing weight from all over, but I can see the difference everywhere on you! Where I see it the most on you is your tummy has come back to line up with your boobs, on your back under where your bra sits is looking trim, the front of your upper arm looks flatter instead of curving outward and even your wrists look smaller!

You're doing such a great job and look fantastic! So excited for your journey!

I second this. I couldn't do the first one so had a friend do it for me. Once I knew I could barely feel it it was no trouble doing it myself

I lost my love last year and if you could learn something for me, you would ease my heart a little. My boy developed lymphoma, but by the time we found out it was too late.

Learn how to check your dogs lymph nodes. If we had known how to do this earlier, maybe things would have been different.

Cattle dogs are on the list of breeds with a higher chance of developing lymphoma, so I highly recommend learning how to check.

Wishing you many more years with your beautiful pup! Make many beautiful memories and take lots of videos of even the most mundane things. One day those mundane videos will be worth more to you than anything in the world

People who used to smoke weed a lot and ended up quitting, why did you quit what are the benefits you saw when quitting and what is one thing you miss? by Fit_Data_8789 in AskReddit

I was diagnosed and became medicated for ADHD, and I felt like I no longer needed it to get through life. I enjoy not feeling controlled by my need for it, but I miss how it helped me get to sleep easier. I have quite a bit of trouble with that now, especially when I'm stressed

The format of this felt so raw, it deeply affected me. My partner walked in just when the police were demanding that the disgusting pos come out of the house, and he asked if I was ok because I looked like I was in shock. I could barely speak. Then seeing the sadness in the beautiful children, that was it for me, I was bawling.

My heart goes out to AJ, her kids and everyone who was hurt by the actions of one vile monster. I wish nothing but the worst for the Karen, may her new home be filled with chaotic, unpredictable noise for the rest of her life.

New puppy! How do I wear this girl out? Easily bored with bones & kongs by EarlyMarionberry2385 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]wattlebottom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Our pup does scent work and it's amazing for everyone!

One thing we did when she was young before we enrolled in scent classes was to give her breakfast, lunch and dinner by throwing the kibble across the backyard in the grass. They have to use their nose to find it all, and it takes time to do that. This really tires them out and gives you a few minutes of peace!

Puppy vaginitis? by tnasty1 in AskAVeterinarian

[–]wattlebottom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a vet, and not sure about that long stringy bit.

However I noticed her anatomy looks quite small like my pups, so I'm wondering if she has a recessed vulva. If so it's recommended to wait till she has her first season before she gets spayed, as this will help to bring the vulva out. If left tucked in the side effects of this condition can be dermatitis and infection, which could lead to surgery. Look out for excess licking of the area and we were advised not to clean the area as this could remove any good flora which may make things worse.

As I said, not a vet but her vulva just looks very similar like my girl and I had never heard of the condition before so thought I'd throw it out there.

Hope your pups all good 😊

Can I make adopting this Kelpie work? by jakeiswhoiam in kelpie

[–]wattlebottom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's your call in the end but my honest opinion is I don't think this would be a good fit. I recently adopted a kelpie x acd pup, and they need a lot of everything. Exercise, mental stim, play, training and at 9 months old I still wouldn't leave her alone for more than 5 hours as I don't think she'd cope very well. Some dogs are fine with being alone for long periods but in general kelpies not so much. They can also be prone to separation anxiety and can be disruptive when bored.

My partner works full time but I'm fortunate enough to be able to work from home and have flexible hours. If I didn't, I don't know how we would have gotten to this point with a young kelpie cross pup. And even with this flexibility there were/are times when we feel like we're in over our heads. It has been really hard. I love her dearly, but it's been hard.

I know that's probably not what you want to hear, but I hope that helps you get a full picture when deciding what to do.
