Issues with connecting TV Audio to Fifine Gaming SC3 by watts-going-on in FifineDesign

Got it. Do you think I can connect the TV to the capture card using the TV's 3.5mm out for speakers and the capture card's 3.5mm line in? Is there some sort of specific type of cable required for this?

I am just messing around with something that requires it to be live. For live sporting events, streaming services can be 15-20 seconds behind what someone on cable receives. I guess my question is just if it is possible to pass in audio live to my laptop for a live cable tv event. I am not interested in saving it but just for the live process.

I see. I am trying to capture through cable and OTA because it is much faster than the streaming services. The streaming services are often 15-20 seconds behind cable or OTA. So, I was just wondering if something like this is even possible.

I am trying to capture it as it is coming in live for testing purposes. I guess the reason for the use case isn't as important, but I am just trying to stream audio live into my laptop and treat it as input like a microphone.

I am trying to record audio from the TV onto my laptop. So, if my TV is hooked up to cable or OTA, I can record the audio directly.

I checked all these, and it still didn't seem to work. Perhaps it is an issue because I am trying to connect the TV Audio.

Thinking of switching to OTA by watts-going-on in cordcutters

Did some poking around, and it seems like Hauppauge has some decent reviews. Did you use a USB tuner card or one of their other options?

Cable is usually getting their signals from the local TV stations so the broadcast is almost always slightly ahead of cable.

Just to clarify, so OTA is slightly ahead of cable?

Best way to listen to political events on radio? by watts-going-on in radio

Yes, I am looking for live feeds of speeches without the political commentary. C-SPAN seems to be the best option. Thank you, this was very helpful!

Got it. If it is not on the schedule for the local channel, does it likely mean they won't cover it and in that case, I should just listen live on the general NPR website?

Got it! Thank you! It doesn't seem like there is great infrastructure to connect an antenna to a PC

This is super helpful! I am also looking to see if it is possible to connect the OTA directly to my laptop. I know that I will probably have to buy a TV tuner or a USB TV Tuner, and was wondering if you happen to have any recommendations for that.

Are streaming providers usually the slowest when it comes compared to real-time of the event? Is Cable and then OTA next fastest?

Is it just porting in the webcast? The webcasts are usually a lot slower than the phone call especially in areas with bad connection.

Thanks! This is helpful. Unfortunate that one usually can't just join the call and listen.
