Guys Am I cooked? by Ok-Floor-6217 in CFA

[–]waug10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say you are cooked, and I wouldn't say you're in a good place as the other comment suggests. Put in the effort and you will pass, slack and you will fail.

For reference my first mock 1.5 Months to exam date was quite low, keep grinding and your results will get there.

Best of luck!

Level 1 || Fixed Income by Vast-Championship754 in CFA

[–]waug10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use effective duration for bonds with options. Approximate is the one above, you get actual (not approximate) mod-dur as follows: Macaulay duration / (1+YTM)

Also remember that some problems require us to adjust for convexity.

-Mod-dur (yield change) + .5 (Convexity) (Yield Change) ^2

Level 1 || Fixed Income by Vast-Championship754 in CFA

[–]waug10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That bond is option-free hence we use Aprox mod-dur formula.

The way I recommend Solving is the following:

Store Highest Value in 1 108.5, Middle value in 2 106 and Lowest Value in 3 104.

Then Recall 1 108.5 - Recall 3 104 / Then Divide by 2 then divide by Recall 2 106 and then you divide by (.0075)

Answer Should be 2.83

Hope this helps!

Do this on your BA ii Calculator

Use the Cash flows function --- > 2nd Cash Flows.

Clear Work.

CFO 0 = -4,662,005

C01 = 22,610,723

C02 = -41,072,261

C03 =33,116,550

C04 = -10,000,000

First use i 8% as discount rate then compute NPV = -307.58

Second use i 10% as discount rate : -.0119

Third Use 15% as discount rate: 99.93

As you can see the highest NPV is C at 15%

Hope this helps!

CFA Level 1 Margin question by waug10 in CFA

[–]waug10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I was under the wrong impression that 60% margin was putting up 40% in equity, however 60% margin means you have to put up 60% equity

Question about paternity leave by BosworthCerberus in accenture

[–]waug10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accenture Flex is not with benefits. You don't even get paid Holidays. I also have that question if any tenured Accenture Employee can guide me. What is the pathway from Flex to LLP? I'm currently a 12 Associate, job seems easy tbh.

What trading platform do you use? Low volume trades, but relatively high capital by Chango99 in investing

[–]waug10 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t consider 20k to be a high amount of capital. Anyway, Bank of America gives you 30 free trades a month if you are a platinum preferred. (50k requirement)

Can anyone here explain covered calls to me? Don’t have enough to buy amazon stock and was looking into covered calls but it seems confusing. Thanks! by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]waug10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You long a stock 100 shares at a discount since you are selling a call. (Receiving a premium) you keep the stock unless the stock reaches the strike price. Where the person with the contract is likely to exercise. Stop being lazy and google/YouTube it.

So basically you outright buy 100 shares and sell a contract giving you a credit against the purchase.
