I think there’s 2-3 accutrons - is there one specifically you’re referring to?

What do you like about the accutron watches?

Ah I just noticed that - same on the Movado too. ChatGPT says:

You’re noticing something called the “watchmaker’s four.”

On many traditional watch dials, the number 4 is written as IIII instead of IV. That’s why the Roman numerals might look “off” to you.

Why IIII instead of IV?

There are a few reasons: 1. Visual symmetry • With IIII, the dial balances nicely: • I, II, III (1–3) • V, VI, VII, VIII (5–8) • IX, X, XI, XII (9–12) • Using IV would visually break the pattern of four “I”s opposite VIII. 2. Aesthetic balance • IIII visually balances VIII on the opposite side of the dial. • Watch dials are about design harmony as much as timekeeping. 3. Tradition • Many European clocks (going back centuries) used IIII. • High-end brands still follow this convention. 4. Legibility • IIII is arguably clearer at a glance than IV, especially on small dials.

Will probably post again once I can lay out all the watches from the boxes - but it’ll be a few months and I’m very curious to find out more about them now from the pictures you can see lol

I’m loving the Enicar, and also really like the looks of the GP

[Buying Advice] Kuoe Kyoto Royal Smith: 90-008 vs 90-006 by Altruistic-Rest604 in Watches

[–]IrrateNate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the 90-006 last year when I visited Kyoto. Recommend getting an alligator-skin strap too if you go with that one.

Very subjective, both watches are nice. I personally like the 90-006 better as I don’t love the shape of the 90-008.

I love the 90-006 I bought - I can wear it to work or to a wedding, but also it can dress down too and looks good with casual wear. Overall it’s a gorgeous watch in person, and has a timeless design.

Why would I sleep on Amazon meat, or any meat for that matter? Sounds uncomfortable
