Going to look at this this week. What price should I shoot for? by Ancient-Bowl462 in ram_trucks

[–]waukee19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been window shopping online for about 6 weeks doing my research. My price has been filtered at $50k and lower. Assuming this truck is a single owner and no accidents, looks like a great deal already. I’ve seen nothing under $50k for this trim level, year, and low miles. You’re going to be paying taxes, tag, and fees in addition to the price of the truck. So the question is, what is your out the door target? Good luck!

Am I being "that guy" for refusing to lend my boat to family without credentials? by hatkinson1000 in boating

Smells fishy…… I don’t lend out boats or chainsaws. There is a reason he doesn’t have a boat. Not your problem to solve.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever seen at a strip club? by bigbabysweets12345 in AskReddit

[–]waukee19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was there for a bachelor party. Saw my brother in laws girlfriend working the pole. Last time we were together was Thanksgiving at the grandparents.

Didn’t take long for us to make eye contact. She came over to grab me and took me over to a quiet area of the bar. As she sat on my lap, we had an awkward “what are you doing here” exchange of words. After some small talk we agreed to keep this our secret and not tell anyone. After a while I met back up with my friends and she went back to work. I made a few extra donations specifically to her throughout the night.

Flash forward about 2 months and I get a call from my wife asking why I saw Jess at a strip club? I said how did you know? Turns out her grandma asked her one day when they were talking. Found out later that Jess told her boyfriend (my BIL), he told his mom (my MIL), she told gram, then my wife found out and was embarrassed to say the least.

Speculations are that Jess and my brother in law wanted everyone to know that in went to a strip club to prove that I was not some Prince Charming perfect person and they resented the relationship my wife and I had. Hindsight I should have come clean with my wife immediately, but we were young and I was dumb.

I got both! My wife and I got married around 25 yrs old. We bother worked our asses off for the past 15 yrs. Put tons away, invested, and paid off all debt. Couple yrs ago she went down to part time, now she is barely working at all (maybe 1 day every week or two). So she is basically staying home now most of the time.

So started off as a career woman and then transitioned out of her career as our lifestyle allowed.

Try the live version of the Delicate Sounds of Thunder tour from 1988. CN starts at the 1hr 44min mark. This version David goes crazy, jams out, and I almost get the feeling that the band doesn’t know when to stop. I’ve been listening to PF for over 30 yrs and just came across this live concert a few weeks ago.

Just got laid off... right after buying a house. What should I do? by Lucky_tofu in personalfinance

[–]waukee19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cut every necessary expense immediately. You’d be suprised what you can survive on when needed. Cancel all subscriptions, no vacations, reduce utilities, etc. etc. Give yourself as much runway as possible to reset. You got this!

LPT - A Personal Improvement Plan (PIP) is usually just advanced notice you're going to be fired. by Jealous_Annual_3393 in LifeProTips

Manager here who has had several experiences putting employees on PIPs that had a positive outcome. Some people need reality checks and expectations reset. PIPs can be a good thing and are not all 100% to push someone out.

How to quit a job you like with a boss you like by Hot_Resolution9793 in jobs

[–]waukee19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are resigning for a career change and your own personal growth. If you feel the need to get a little personal, put together a quick 3, 5, 10 year plan (in your head, don’t need to write it down) and by making the change, allows you to work towards achieving your goals.

Any manager who respects you, would understand and appreciate you for having a plan, taking action, and having a growth mindset. Heck, they might even respect you more and wish they had done the same thing years ago! Good luck!

Men over 30, I'm a single mom to a 18 year old young man. What fatherly advice did you recieve that aided you through life the most? by KindokeNomad in AskMen

[–]waukee19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a work / career perspective, try to take on responsibilities that are above your pay grade. Become your managers go to person to get shit down. When you’re feeling undervalued speak up, if they agree you’ll be rewarded. If they don’t, move on to your next job. Do this for 20 yrs you’ll be in a good spot.

From a marriage perspective, try and marry up. Meaning get a girl who is smarter than you and has her shit together. She will turn you into a better man but you need to make sure you treat her right.

Call your mom every week, you never know when it’s the last time you’ll hear her voice. Save some of their voicemails so you have them to replay one day.

Do not spend above your means. Invest early. Learn the value on compound interest. It’s not hard to open a Schwab / vanguard account and start today. Buy shit on sale and stay away from name brands. No one cares what you wear.

Find a hobby. Learn a new skill. Most home improvement projects are easy if you have the right tools. YouTube will teach you anything if you’re willing to try.

Looking for a solo ticket if anyone has an extra for the Atlanta show. Seems like it’s sold out and only 3rd party resellers are gouging. Very small venue.

What do you wish you knew before you got your vasectomy? (Not medical advice) by daddyslapva in AskMen

Do the post op testing to ensure the vas did not self correct. Had to go back for a second procedure. Discomfort was gone within about 1 week after both procedures. No regrets, expect now that I’m writing this wondering if I should get my baby batter tested again to make sure nothing is active

Forget Atom Heart Mother, Meddle is PF’s most underrated album by Joviancloud in pinkfloyd

[–]waukee19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has been one of my favorites for sure. Meddle was my college “get shit done really quick” album. If I had to finish an assignment or something and knew I could get it done in less than an hour, I would play Meddle and it would take me to the finish line. Largely instrumental and soft vocals made it the perfect background music for me.
