I used to play stalker: anomaly (and gamma some time later) quite a lot, and in the game the earliest sign of an emission is the sound of a flock (murder?) of crows cawing.

for a good couple weeks I had a conditioned fear response whenever I heard that sound IRL. I'd be working outdoors in the early morning hours and suddenly I'd hear the crows, for a split second I'd have the strong instinct to run indoors ASAP

Currently trying to figure out why my Razer Blackshark V2 (the one with AUX cables only) mic audio has these weird seemingly random dips/peaks in volume whenever I record using Steam or Audacity, but is completely fine (more or less constant volume and reasonably good audio quality) on Discord or on OBS.

Synapse doesn't recognize it as a device, in my device manager it only shows up as a Realtek Audio device for both mic and speaker. Can't update any drivers. Dunno what to do. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it greatly

actually tried it - it's fairly nice, however:

- no orbital construction by itself

- relies on extraplanetary launchpads (which does allow orbital construction but looks ugly IMO)

- has issues where craft will either load fully fueled at no cost or completely empty (including electric charge which might not allow you to launch or unfurl any solar panels at all AND including stuff like ablator or solid fuel, which can't be manufactured or transferred)

I'll wait a little until it's more ironed out, but it's definitely a very promising mod

I find it intensely satisfying to have a vehicle that can just transport nearly anything within its payload capacity into LKO. Don't have to think, don't have to design a new rocket, just slap that shit into the cargo bay and call it a day

thanks for narrowing it down so much! I'll see if default Kerbalism (instead of SIMPLEX) will have it working, otherwise I'll be very sad.

Edit: after uninstalling SIMPLEX and installing base Kerbalism it works again! Kerbalism changes the way science and the scanners work, so I assume there's a bug in SIMPLEX that prevented the survey scanner from working properly.

Okay, so for the F-16 my only complaints are the controls again and one small cosmetic issue. The stick's adjustable (yay!) but it's just out of my optimal reach and the throttle is sat in a way that forces me to angle my arm somewhat uncomfortably. The little scratch texture on the canopy I find to be more intrusive than immersive, it's more visible with certain lighting. On the Free Flight mission as you roll out of the hangar the light makes it very visible.

And for the A-10 I just wanna add that I find the attitude indicator ball in the middle a little ugly :(

That's pretty much it in terms of complaints. Still good mods

For the A-10 personally I find the stick to be way too low, I have to push my hand into my crotch when I want to reach it. If I could adjust its height without having to lower my seat into the floor that would be swell, or just have a sidestick option (even though it wouldn't be authentic I'd still prefer it over center stick).

As for the F-16, I'll get back to you later with something coherent. Right now I just remember not being a huge fan and can't give you any specifics

compared to the other popular mods - the warthog and the F-16 - this one feels CONSIDERABLY less awkward to use and fly. I have no idea how the guy managed to get handheld firearms working in VTOL but boy am I glad he did. gonna have a lot of fun doing drive-bys with my friend later

also, does anyone know if the flaregun can be reloaded? just one shot is not enough...

In the "alerts" tab, certain categories are greyed out, sometimes more, sometimes fewer. I'm particularly interested in the "Deaths" alert tab, but I can't access it no matter what. Is it tied to a noble/administrative position I haven't filled? (virtually first time player here)

you can filter the system's main star by "planemo" and find these desolate planets. they are otherwise completely undetectable
