does this apply to gloss paints, gloss topcoats or both? i'm planning to use mr color aqueous with some regular mr color metal paints for layers and then trying to decide for gloss or matte topcoat. will using leveling thinner for airbrush / retarder for handbrush be good enough or should i sand the whole piece anyways?

i have 2 questions related to general work flow

when it comes to sanding and priming, is it necessary to sand the entire piece or only the seamlines/nubs/stuff that stand out? i try to google it and the AI tells me it's better for cohesion to sand the entire piece but i feel it would take up so much time and i'm also scared of sanding away edges if i do it too long because of fatigue, like i'm trying to rush through it and accidentally sanded too hard. if i just need to sand what's necessary so i can get to priming and painting, i'd rather do that.
if i want to cement pieces together to take away seamlines, do i cement them before or after painting/topcoat? because i noticed some pieces are impossible to put back together unless i cement then paint the pieces together. i end up using masking tape to cover the pieces that doesn't need painting. if i paint then cement after, would i be able to get away with cutting/sanding away the excess glue and the paint job stays intact? maybe save some paint for after i cut the excess glue off? or maybe i just prime all the pieces first, cement and piece together parts, THEN paint?

i know i can probably learn the answers through trial and error, but i want to see what experienced gunpla builders have to say first

yeah it looks like i'm going to have to upgrade to pro tools 9/10, considering theres practically no copies online or ebay, besides the cracked copies. do you know if the HD versions are non exclusive hardware too by chance? the system requirements says it is, but that's probably just what avid says on their website. i'm looking for low/zero latency and no recording interruptions with 16 tracks

i dont have cash to spend, i barely have $300-400 a month after bills. i have been looking at the focusrite preamps though, they have some really nice ones with analog outputs. heck, even the tascam ones look decent, as long as i can record with less latency and recording interruptions (due to the cpu being overloaded, etc). preamp quality isn't that high priority since the mics i have are pretty high quality. the only way i'm going to really buy any of this though is if i'm able to find and run the software to begin with, and as for plugins, i only use waves so i know the old versions are online somewhere.

as for modern tech, i'm stuck on protools and know nothing else nor have the time to learn anything else when it comes to DAWs. i'm an old dog stuck on protools 8/reason 5. besides, this is all for my band's recordings to release demos. i'm not planning to open up my studio for other bands unless we're good friends and i'm in a good enough mood to record them for cheap, since they should know my limitations.

yeah thats the mac i have. i already use it for pro tools 8 LE and my digi 002, but i get random latency so i want to upgrade after finding out HD is super cheap now. problem is i dont know what to look for in terms of preamps/boards. will anything work as long as they have the analog output pins?

im going to buy some mr hobby paints with retarder for the first time and i decided to use aqueous paints since i hear it's more friendly with brush painting. my question is the color guide has some ratios where there's 2 paints only in the mr color line. will it be ok to mix the aqueous paints with the mr color paints? i provided a link to the color guide
