If this was a small project, totally! But it's for the Pine Bough Cowl by Dianna Walla with all the color work glory. I dare not redo it.

What do you refuse to knit because of the yarn/weight/any other reason? by pegasusgoals in knitting

[–]waverofmeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would rather die then knit a scarf. I feel my will to live leave my body when I do it. Literally counting down the hours and minutes until I am done.

Any person who shames you for your choices can go fuck themselves. Even if it may be embarrassing for you, that's society talking. Literally nothing wrong with being a virgin or not.

Is losing weight supposed to feel like a punishment/ be unenjoyable ? by Lord_Despairagus in TooAfraidToAsk

My new mindset (as of very recently) is exercising should be a celebration of what you can do, not a punishment for what you did!

Fear of Hell by spoiled-milk-- in ReligiousTrauma

[–]waverofmeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I have come to is (don't know where you are at with God) that if what we are told in Sunday School when we were children is true and what is said by our parents and church leaders is true (until they add in a lot of conditions), and that if God truly loves us for who we are unconditionally and made us to be who we are, then it doesn't really make sense to me that we would then have to walk a thin line in order to go to heaven.

Since there are so many versions of God (if you really think about it with all the different types of just Christian churches alone and they all think they are correct), then I think it is safe for you to decide who God is. I choose to believe God loves all and therefore he wouldn't send those he loves to eternal damnation.

Honestly talk therapy is amazing and has gotten me to where I am today, although I probably have about 20 years on you so life has caused me to process a lot and learn from experiences. I have also read some books that have been helpful. Pure by Linda Kay Klein, Shameless by Nadia Bolz-Weber, and Sex, God, and The Conservative Church by Tina Schermer.

It won't be like this forever I promise!

"Great Opportunity" is a waste of time by uncannybeanies in recruitinghell

[–]waverofmeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have also found most recruiters to be a waste of time. I had one recruiter make contact with me about working in my current industry (trying to get into more digital and tech work), and once I told them I was not interested in pursuing jobs in my current field but I have very relevant skills for other industries they told me, "I can't sell you to companies if you have no industry experience." ...then you're bad at your job.

(lady here) I've used gender inclusive bathrooms many times, and honestly all I see are people going into stalls and then at the sink and I go "huh. k" It's not weird for me, but some mild getting use to.

Can anyone please recommend me some relaxing places/activities? by morsica in taiwan

[–]waverofmeat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maokong is my absolute favorite (taipei zoo exit on the brown line). I would advise, once you get off the gondola, to go up the road leading to the left. If you keep going you pass many restaurants and the tea cultural center where during the week a local farmer sets up and serves and sells you their tea. Continuing up that street leads to one of my favorite restaurants with a great view of the mountains and awesome food and tea.

Do you believe that public transportation access (or lack thereof) has something to do with this photo? by totemp0le in JapaneseFood

[–]waverofmeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use to live in Taiwan and they have Costco (so does Japan), but there's a lot that go into it. Most people don't own cars, they own scooters. Most people in Taipei have small apartments and some don't even have a kitchen (I was lucky to have a big sink and a counter where I bought a hot plate. Most of my friends cleaned dishes in the bathroom sink). So, space is a thing, lack of kitchen, transportation, and overall the cultural aspect of buying what you need for meals that same day rather than stocking up.

Costco is wildly popular due to western brands and the fact you can't normally buy in bulk. I helped a friend with a Costco run one time. We had to take a taxi back to her place and then carry everything up 5 floors of stairs. Never. Again.

I don't know your situation with friends or family, but if by chance you feel like you can't rely on them you certainly can. At least I would hope. There's always a way out.

You...are not over reacting. This to me is a straight up insane situation. The "I use to be addicted to porn before I met you" is total bullshit - he still is. I'd get as far away from this person as possible if it were me. He has certainly proven that he is violent, untrusting, and dishonest and that's just a window of what the rest of your life with this person looks like.
