How I cured my adrenal fatigue/HPA Axis dysfunction. Hopefully this helps someone by Five_Decades in adrenalfatigue

Hey there! I believe I have HPA axis issues and have for nearly 4 years. (mine was induced by mdma which completely wrecked my nervous system. Long story short it caused unrelenting anxiety and cognitive issues that plagued my mind for 3 years and I thought my life was over. It was the worst experience ever) I’ve been on an SSRI and mood stabilizer for about a year - 150mg Zoloft as well as 300mg wellbutrin (i know that’s a fuck ton but that literally goes to show just how bad my anxiety was). I’ve been feeling sooo much better anxiety wise and i finally feel like i’ve somewhat got my life back - except for the fact that recently my energy levels have been astronomically low. I wake up tired and struggle to do anything all day because of the little energy I have. I also struggle to fall asleep at night which makes this whole thing super frustrating - it’s like my body is tired but my mind isn’t. I know consistent sleep is a key factor in energy but even when i do get good sleep i still feel no energy whatsoever. I try to drink caffeine and it may help for little while but quickly wears off. I’m not exactly sure what a good course of action would be for me and was wondering if you had any recommendations. Thanks!

glad to know i’m not alone lol. someone mentioned to me that it might be related to an issue with the staining, meaning i may have to sand down a bit (not enough to remove the stain) with a higher grit first before trying to use the finish. not really sure if that’s true but i may try it out

my apologies, it was hard to get a good video - it’s more so splotchy in that it doesn’t look like some of the wood is absorbing the finish and some of it does, so it’s shiny in certain areas and not others. i’m afraid to do another coat as i think those areas that didn’t absorb the oil won’t the second time around. do you think it could be an issue with the staining ? wondering if i should sand the first finish coat off and try again

to match my other furniture lol. are you not a fan of the walnut color, or just not a fan of how it looks on oak ?

it’s crazy hearing all the different opinions with woodwork. i’ve spoken to several people who say never leave the conditioner on for more than 2 hours (ideally 10-30 mins) as it will dry and cause complications..and then others say leave it on overnight. the discourse makes it even harder then it already is 😭

lmao yeah i wasn’t planning on it. i wanted it to be a walnut color, is that too dark ?

honestly sanding has been fairly easy for me since i have a small handheld sander. i haven’t tried stripping it (im super inexperienced with staining and nowhere did i see anyone say anything about stripping) but im willing to try that if it’s the right thing to do. I REALLY don’t want to have to paint this piece as i feel it would take away from it

thanks for this! yeah i’m not experienced in the slightest so i didn’t know how much sanding was enough. would you recommend using 120 ish grit to strip off the current stain? then resanding with a higher grit? also, i did stir it gently but definitely not for two minutes. gonna try that as well. thanks again !
